Food / KETO DIET - is it known in Poland? [30]

@Cargo pants
Working out is important, it's a smaller part of your health tho. Doesn't help if your building up good muscles and burn energy if your organs are getting worse.

The yo-yo effect you speak of comes out of the calories in-calories out mentality which is wrong.

The less you eat (calories wise) the less you will burn internally over time. If you eat little calories and stop exercising you are gonna become a land whale very quickly.

I would suggest eating as many calories as possible, and fewest possible meals per day.
Having your body used to burning a lot while digesting food, leads to burn a lot of stored energy when not eating. You need more then 15 hours to START burning your storage fat, otherwise your body will scream for carbs all the time.

Your eating habits are important (if you want to eat mostly fats, avoid bacon and low quality fats. Fats from quality meat, like cows or oxen that haven't been added hormones etc)

Research has shown that athletes tend to have high performance but, very bad health. Check it out yourself, do a scan of your internal organs to see if your healthy.

With that lifestyle you mention I highly doubt it

Food / KETO DIET - is it known in Poland? [30]

@johnny reb
Which is why good quality salt with water is good to avoid anything bad, it prevents headaches or generally feeling bad. On KETO the body just flushes out nutrients cause there is no sugar to hold on the water.

Your spot on with the sugar causing inflammation, pausing body's focus on other areas until it's "done"

High fat intake should help with the hunger when you eat.

@Novichok
That is a problem but, with high fat amount. You get enough calories to not go hungry. I don't know what to recommend for people above 40 y.o age group tho as I haven't checked it myself.

What wife has to say... That's none of my business and too much of a minefield for me to recommend anything!

If it's dizziness it's most likely lack of electrolytes, I would google it I were you and add quality salt to some water while drinking (very small doses, your taste buds should guide you)

Himalayan salt or sea salt should work

healthy.

Then I recommend KETO, OMAD/Intermittent fasting. It has done wonders for me personally boosting and improving my health to such levels that I am now rarely sick and generally feel safe without having to worry about COVID even.

Used to catch the cold like 3-4 times a year, now it's 0 or once a year. Used to have 116 kg (mostly fat) then I shrunk to 78 kg within a 1,5 years. Now I weight 83 kg with muscles building up. Doing pull ups push-ups without a sweat.

I sincerely recommend it, hope for Vincent to live long and prosper. Don't want the forum to go away

Work / Tourist business idea - Would non-Poles be interested? [2]

As many of you know I moved to Poland in February with the intent of joining the Polish military. Alas I have to wait one more year before applying again (formalities like that sucks...)

So I have been looking for things to do, work, writing a book... Whatever I feel like doing while waiting...

So I have come up with a business idea as a tourist attraction! Wondering if any of the non-Polish users here on this forum or future guests who would like to share their opinion about it.

There are many internet nerds out here (hello btw), and I know for sure I would love doing what I am going to propose so... Here it comes!

Hero's guild

Those of you who know anime/manga/mmorpg/rpg/fantasy games&movies
(You name it) have heard about questing, partying up and generally have a good time with party members while on journey together.

Some like to compete against each other, others just to socialize together and some even just living it out.

So I have come up with a concept of creating a real life "adventures guild" naming it: "Heroes Guild", it would provide services to the local town (my current idea is Warsaw as it has an good communication app with gps function) but, any city/town/village who would allow/back it legally would suffice really. Everything from looking for lost animals to helping out with various things that people need help with would be given out in the form of a "quest" on a "questboard" organized by the guild itself with close co-operation with the local authorities (maybe even a governmental worker present in the building).

This would provide a "goal" for tourists or local kids/teenagers/interested to go around and explore the area organized by the guild which would also promote crafts made cloth&gear for fashion/use purposes from local tailors&blacksmiths.

The local authorities would only have to pay for the upkeep cost of the building until it would have enough of a client base to afford all the costs itself.

Basing it's economy on promoting various craftsmanship and sponsorship from any private company interested. (Which then would be possible to offer the customers the possibility of certain sets of cloth/gear if promoting the company while "adventuring" (example having metal armor fashioned with Coca Cola instead of heraldry and a red tabard with Coca Cola written on it)

What you guys think?

News / What is strategic meaning of Poland in Europe and in the world? [51]

You penetrated me for wrong map? Not sensible at all.

He can always propose new maps with Kosovo being part of Albania too. It's practically reality, why not make it formal as well?

If your thinking about future, use updated maps. With or without Kosovo. Poles are sensitive to maps reminding of past partitions. As a Serb you should understand what Ironside felt seeing it.

Just like seeing Yugoslavia on map, but with western parts missing with name Austria or Italy on it

News / What is strategic meaning of Poland in Europe and in the world? [51]

In the world and Europe it's a non-threatening "no mans land" between Germany and Russia. Last two times they had a shared border... We had two world wars, being most bloody for both Germany AND Russia with the most recent one.

It's in Germany's and Russia's interest for none of them controlling Poland and have distance between each other's. (Which is in Poland's interest as well as Poles desire a free and independent Poland)

Throughout history most of Poland's military has been used eastward due to Poland's sense and feelings of belonging with the Catholic community (rest of Europe, until times of reformation and definitively not very much after the partitions)

While it's in Russia's interest to keep Poland weak enough for it not to be an invasional threat towards herself (lesson learned from times of troubles)

While also keeping Poland strong enough to avoid military invasions from Germany and co-operate on threats towards other Slavic states as to gain recognition and influence among the most slavic nations.

It's definitively better for Russia to work with predominately slavic countries compared to Germanic, Turkish or Chinese.

Problem is that due to inner slavic rivalry and brotherly squabbles, neither Czech. Rep, Poland or Ukraine (Yugoslavia could have potential if it still existed) have enough strength, power or influence to be taken seriously by Russia.

U.S.A got U.K, Germany, France and Scandinavian countries as closest cultural support. While Russia is quite isolated in that regard.

Poland also offers verbal mediation between greater states (demographically and economically speaking) as Poland has been easily isolated on a European level and lack any threatening potential on a global scale.

Increased influence of Poland in... Africa would be rather a curiosity compared to Chinese influence investments out of the difference in magnitude and possible outcome.

Poland has so much to rebuild internally that even a country like Lithuania or Slovakia aren't planning or preparing plans to avoid an possible invasion by Poland.

As also mentioned earlier in the post, Poland has enough to have an population of 120 million people agriculturally. With newer technology possibly even more, so need for expansion is dramatically reduced and needs for development is far greater.

You mean a pressure

It's a way to test a man, his masculinity. A women can only lead a man to his downfall, only for the purpose of checking what type of man he is. It happens on a subconscious level which they themselves rarely understand.

Really?

Yes, there are more single mothers growing by the numbers, divorces and and state marriages (who are easily diveorceable).

Not to mention questioning the role of how society should be run, paternal or maternal. Which also plays into the perception of men's mentality. Until men (18+ males) become a father figure for a real son/daughter. Many still remain with a son like mentality, looking for guidance and doing what is expected of him. Only changing who is legitimate to guide him when his biological father seems to be outdated or not knowing enough about his life around him and his situation and his challenges.

Which is why for a man having God as father is paramount, as to not be lead astray by wicked people abusing the situation or for the men to feel isolated. A women being a lot faster sensitive is able to remedy the situation faster (which is learned of said dangers as teenager by being excluded/included/excluded repeatedly)

While a man reacts far slower and isn't conscious about that process at all, blaming his surroundings only and not taking steps to improve his situation.

Such group mechanics are in place biologically (the beast factor). It's important not to give in to it, while many do cause they aren't able to look at it objectively as there are a lot of unstable emotions being run through ones perception about it.

This boy clearly didn't learn social rules, or followed social rules of a fringe group which saw such behaviour or emotions and steps like hate/revenge/sadism/banditry as okey

Which has to be countered. How? I don't know

He either learned it from his dad, or his dad was missing in this picture. Otherwise I have a difficult time understanding it at all

Fatherless sons are a danger to any society, even more so then those that are wrongly raised by an idiot. Cause the fatherless ones tend to group up together, then it only needs one bad apple to lead them cause of their lack of a masculine role model.

Society thinking it's smart to downplay the fathers role... I don't know what to write

Are you really surprised? Those kind of people are walking monsters... blaming the victim, don't mind evildoers performing obscene sacrifices, partakes in anything that can be described as unholy.

They think there is a war between the sexes and are blind to what their doing to people, I only imagine what world I want for my future son&daughter. Those kind of people to not want a good environment for them as most of them don't even want children and prefer to use people without thinking of the consequences.

History / The Warsaw Uprising memory. To remember who you are. [180]

@Lenka
It was all an underground movement, orders were slow to reach out. Right before the uprising even delayed, top brass didn't have the amount of authority as you are imagining it.

Most of the fighters didn't even know personally anyone of the top leaders. What is that you wanted them to say? Call off the uprising? They tried, didn't work. They heavily criticized for calling it off, damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

They didn't have many options, it was either start the uprising or leave the civilians to their fate. (Most of the civilians died I know) at the moment of the decision making they didn't know what would happen at what scale.

If I were one of the leaders I would have thought that Germans would purposely back off as to buy time and to create tension among the allies as much as possible. Instead Hitler decided to flatten Warsaw as to dishearten other cities in Europe from rebelling as well.

I can't honestly understand anyone criticizing the decision making at that moment. It was tons of unknown factors, little communication and no internet or satellite footage.

Kids were mostly used as mail ordinance, very few had any weapons. Many whom had lost parents and had nobody else, it was definitely hard to refuse their eagerness to help out in that situation.

If you mean the teenagers, many of whom were robbed of their peaceful youth and no school prospects, only thing they had learned was hate and destruction in the most brutal war in a very brutal situation.

If you had been there arguing with the teenagers, you would most likely had been ignored or asked to leave the city

only the far right elements suspected it really. Which is why many fought through Czechoslovakia to enter west allied territory to survive after the uprising. At first Germans, passively let them through with vain hope of them teaming up, which was definitive no-go option.

Stalin was a secretive paranoid person, you thinking that anybody knew what he was planning before opening the Soviet archives is delusional. It was suspected that the Soviets wanted to control Poland for themselves. Yet you think that opposing the Soviets was the main/only argument for the uprising by how your presenting it.

It was one of the shittiest situations in history, just like landing on Iwo Jima. You can complain all you want about that situation too, doesn't change the fact that it was impossible for the American leadership to predict the losses that were there either

Hats off and cheers for Oathbreaker knocking the Top Dog off his horse.

History / The Warsaw Uprising memory. To remember who you are. [180]

@Novichok
1. Main enemy was Nazi Germany in 1944, you seem to ignore years of occupation, mass excutions and terror as if nothing had happened.

2. The Germans planned to turn it into a war zone (fortress city) and fight the Soviets off as much as possible. Prolonging the war by fighting with fixed defenses in a dense city near a riverbank. Only an encirclement could have helped if anything, yet it would take a long time before the Soviets would "liberate" it. The casualties would be tremendously high either way, just look up Stalingrad.

After the Warsaw Uprising, the logistical worth of the city wasn't worth defending it at all as everything had been destroyed. All logistics, infrastructure and civilian logistics (active stores, bakeries, magazines, railways etc) was utterly ruined. Making defending the place a very bad idea without expensive repairs, and the Germans had no help whatsoever with that from locals who were either transported to camps, escaped or died.

I honestly can't imagine Warsaw surviving much better, if only a bit better. A remake of the city would had to be done either way after the war.

3. Oh no! What a dementia old pops just like his president! Now we are done, unless you want more.

Radom is a totally different scenario and geographical location. Besides Warsaw uprising was part of a larger operation, where AK helped ambush German frontline troops along everywhere possible, shortly after having their officers arrested and soldiers drafted into the people's army.

It was 1944, most of Poland was occupied by the Nazi's of course it was a political move.

Your blaming victims for resisting tyranny and mass murder. calling them stupid, yet you yapp about people being stupid listening to the U.S government while certainly, you would be a gigantic hypocrite just like the Soviets if people suddenly rose up against the COVID restrictions.

I just can't take you seriously as you seem to only want to degrade the resistance fighting against the Nazi's. As if Soviets were the only ones doing it...

Same to you... You really think Warsaw would be spared? It would have turned to a war zone either way, only reason cities like Cracow got spared it's cause the Nazi's thought of them as German cities. And as one concentration camp after another got liberated, they started to think twice about their actions and the future waiting them.

So you can cut out your emotional one sided love for everything Soviet and get a grip on reality

Even a mice will jump at a cat when cornered, why is it so hard for you to grasp that? There was no other way, you got to be insane to think that Poles would agree to prolong the war and dig trenches for the germans in 1944.

Your evaluating the situation from a comfy chair behind a computer screen 77 years later, the uprising was bound to explode either way and the leadership knew it. They had a choice, start it themselves and have some authority or lead to a chaotic mess they had no control over.

If you think any of the men would survive the trench digging and not sent to concentration camps, then you are an idiot. But seeing how vile you are on this forum. I wouldn't surprised if you think that every Varsovian should been sent to the camps and died. It's rotten of you to write like that when you obviously survived it, things could had gone even worse for you. Which you don't seem to even imagine

Ah ok, my mistake then. I am so used to anyone trying to smear anything positive about the Warsaw uprising that one never knows what an other poster is up to.

Btw the ghetto uprising and the Warsaw uprising are two separate events. There isn't any reason to be aggrevated about it tho, there were Jews liberated in 1944 who wanted to join the uprising as well. (I don't know further, most likely they didn't get any weapons as many of the insurgents themselves had little weapons and ammunition)

So even voting for them is suicidal in my case, just like nationalists who don't think of me to belong to their nation.

Interesting read, some fair points. Especially about PiS's political strategy, although clearly regarding anyone like me with a similar background as an enemy -.-

I hate reading about class struggle or class conflicts, reminds me of theft, murder and divisive language. Just for the sake of having political reason to create chaos.
