Study / Expat kids in schools in Poland [77]

@cms neuf
Thanks for the thorough explanation. The bullying of German kids by immigrants in German schools is becoming a big issue nowadays, especially in Berlin. My cowoker is having problems with his daughters' school because refugee students keep bringing in knives and other shanks. The situation in Germany is only going to get worse, and although you have every right to think my plan is absurd, I need to look out for my family's safety. The murders, rapes, and attacks on Germans by immigrants are a daily occurrence, and the mainstream media is no longer able to fully conceal it. I don't want to be stuck here once things reach a boiling point.

Are you pretty sure of this or is it an assumption about the international schools focusing on academics?

International schools in German also push an openly political ideology just like the public schools. There's a huge anti-racism campaign and the children are taught that the AFD is a racist political party.

I appreciate the help. The kids are 3 and 1 right now. The move would likely be in two years. I'm not against private school if it would be too difficult on them in a Polish public school.

I just wonder whether an international private school in Poland would be teaching the transgender/anti-white curriculum that's taking hold in Germany.

Thanks. Is Szczecin the type of place that would be more accepting of a German kid starting school there?

Would anyone here from Western Europe or the US be willing to share their experience with the school system in Poland?

As I wrote in a different post, I'm considering relocating to a nice area of Szczecin and sending my kids to school there. Of course they'll speak sufficient Polish by the time we move.

Any helpful information and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Fair enough. During the bus and train rides I've taken in Poland, everyone sat there in silence and no one spoke on the phone.

Not defending the attack, but I'm not surprised that a German-speaking professor was attacked, and not a German-speaking family on vacation.

@Bratwurst Boy
Not patronizing to his colleague. I mean displaying condescending body language combined with speaking German triggered the attack.

Based on my observation, Poles tend to be much more reserved in public places, where many Germans have no qualms about being loudmouthed.

The conversation was probably held at a loud volume in a train where everyone else is silent.

I see academics doing this quite often in long-distance trains in Germany.

That's a bit of a stretch. I'm not advocating violence, and certainly not against Poles.

My point is that these two professors (one of whom is Polish) were likely acting in a patronizing and arrogant manner (typical of German academics) that triggered this person to attack them.

Those professors beaten up in the tram probably deserved it. Most German professors are self-righteous arrogant soy boys.

The Polish attacker warned him first, and the professor gave some response that enraged him.

Yes, it seems like Antifa basically serves as the deep state's political police in America.

This is encouraging to hear about Poland.

Any thoughts about what right-wing Poles would think about a right-wing German or American who moves to Poland to escape the leftist madness and makes an attempt to assimilate into Polish culture? Would this person be accepted?

I would imagine it also varies within the city of Szczecin. The map shows Berlin as even more polluted now. Some parts of Berlin have much clearer air than others but the map doesn't reflect it. It may just be an average.

When you write burning trash, does that mean just paper and untreated wood, or are they burning everything including plastic bags and old electronics?

It looks like Krakow has plans to ban domestic coal burning starting September 2019. Any thoughts on whether it will be effective or sufficiently enforced, or if other cities will follow suit?

Great insight, thanks. I like Polish food and would be keeping my German salary, so those are not concerns.

What about the issue of health and safety? I hear reports about the air quality in Poland, especially southern Poland, being bad due to the coal and trash burning. Have you noticed this?

Also, any known or perceived issues with unsafe building codes allowing for faulty electrics, asbestos, fires, etc.?

As someone now living in Poland who is accustomed to life in a wealthy country like the US, Germany, or the UK, what are the major drawbacks of daily life in Poland (aside from the language)?

I realize there are many redeeming aspects too. Just looking for some insight on the unpleasant stuff here.

Those elements are certainly part of fascism, but the ultranationalist element would not apply to leftists. The Wikipedia definition includes what you wrote but also adds that fascism is a radical form of authoritarian ultranationalism.

Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc. were not fascists in my book.

It may be splitting hairs, and I'm certainly not defending Antifa in any way.

I know what you mean, but the term fascism is used incorrectly by people all over the political spectrum as an insult to mean totalitarian.

Antifa is in fact against fascism (as well as white people, men, Christianity, decency, etc.), but they're certainly not against totalitarianism.

Life / Left-wing agitators in Poland [49]

Antifa and other far-left groups have made a habit of attempting to disrupt, shut down, and violently attack right-wing and even moderate conservative events in the US, Germany, UK, etc.

Are there any instances of this going on in Poland?

Those Pakistanis are British in terms of nationality, just as Steven Seagall is Russian and Serbian.

I suppose that it may boil down to whether Poland is willing to be poor if that is necessary in order to remain Polish, or would rather begin the slow but sure destruction of the Polish ethnicity for the sake of pursuing short-term economic gains.

On other posts I noticed the issue of Indian workers come up, and it seemed like the consensus was that most of them aren't interested in a long-term stay in Poland. They have a skill and would rather be making more in Germany or the UK (or go back to India).

This alone doesn't mean the death of Poland, as long as it's not being used as a way to slowly make the Poles accustomed to accepting immigrants with the aim of later introducing mass welfare immigration.

My understanding is that a unanimous vote of all other EU members would be necessary to impose sanctions on a member country. Poland and Hungary have each others' backs. Most of the EU's former communist members and Italy and Austria may offer resistance too.

One other question for Rich Mazur, which is related to the OP's question... What is the likelihood that you see of Poland's internal politics creating a situation in the near future that opens the floodgates for third-world immigration?

Completely agree. I was referring to Germany being the worst of current national governments.

Although I'd probably concede that Sweden is even worse.

The OP should be proud to be Polish and to have a government that protects the Polish people from degeneracy.

Just think about what it's like for a German living under the Merkel Regime. That's tough.

The current Polish government seems like one of the better governments in Europe. They're doing a good job keeping the immigrants out. One thing that could be improved is stopping the coal burning. Some parts of Poland have appalling air quality.
