ashamed of being British

Are my eyes deceiving me!!!! a Brit saying that :o

the city was being spoilt by British twats.

hhhmm i'm sure there were a few spanish, italian, german etc etc Twats there too :)

Whilst I saw quite a few stag do's in and around the square, they were all well behaved

You see not every Brit is a thug, just another stereotype

Language / Is the term 'Polak' derogatory?? [254]

Yeah, but then the religious ones start the wars.

Yeah now there's a whole other debate opened up right there, RELIGION is the source of most of the wars in history, either linked to, religious beliefs or other elements of religion.

I don't need to list some examples because i'm sure you are all aware of what i mean. Imagine, NO RELIGION, less wars, however its true that if we not waring over Religion it will be about something else.

Just stop for a second and see how ridiculous this all is, we have been waring for centuries over a few fairy tails written by a few people who were bored and as good at telling stories as Terry Prattchet and Steven King.

I could right on and on about Religion and the negative affects on human life and culture but really there would be to much to write :)

Language / Is the term 'Polak' derogatory?? [254]

Polak in polish means Pole so its no offensife although it is seen as offensive when used in foreign language in place of "Pole" as Polak or Polack. Polak is not offensive only in polish language.

Thank you Ola for the contribution i find all this very helpful and i will have to withdraw some of my harsh comments about you in previous posts, so here i APOLOGISE to you for those.

thnx

p.s. i wasn't calling a Polish girl a polak just poles in general

UK, Ireland / Warning to British people visiting Poland!! Don't get drunk and smash the place up! [447]

Small town mentality some people here need to grow up, it doesn't matter where you live you can be a racist if you live in London which is not small or somewhere like wellington, UK, which is very small.

I'm sorry that your friends were attacked but don't start pointing fingers at disgruntled locals who are BNP supporters, there just easy targets.

Language / Is the term 'Polak' derogatory?? [254]

I'm sorry for my ignorance but i really don't know how the Polish view the word 'Polak' is it a derogatory term used for 'Polish' or just the American equivalent.

I have said it around Polish people before and one girl didn't react well, i'm not sure if its a personal thing or a general thing. An explanation of sorts would be appreciated as i don't want to offend people without meaning too.

If somebody was naive enough they could believe that Poland is a country where the people are, up their own backsides, imperialists, nazi's, jealous, bitter and many other things due to the posts of a few lame excuses for people.

It's good that there are people on here who counteract this content so keep it up Justyna and other supporting Poles :)

Being from Europe, England, myself and my country come into your bracket of foreigners. If you think about the EU lef, then you will clearly see that botht he UK and Poland are supposed to benefit from the relationship.

There are thousands upon thousands of Polish coming to this country (Which i am totally happy with by the way) so the UK is and has a right to have something in return, if this means setting up any type of business in Poland then so be it. It stops the EU relationship from been one sided to the main member states, France, Uk, Spain, Germany etc etc.

If the Polish want freedom to enter our country then they should be prepared to pay in kind

Well she clearly has a problem, either against British people or just non-polish people in general. I hate it when people make statements or produce arguments with absolutely no evidence or accuracy with what they are saying.

Don't get me wrong i'm no stranger to controversy but at least i can form an argument around sensible and accurate points instead of just slandering like the Sun newspaper would do.

RIGHT,

I can understand that there are some British people who go to poland for a stag night and get drunk etc etc. This isa massive generalisation and stereotype and to express it on this forum was totally your choice and your entitled to your opinion. However i think you are way of the mark and for your information its probably only a small percentage of British visitors to your country.

I have a lot of things that i think the Polish could improve on when visiting, living and working in my country but i don't make sweeping statements as there are only pockets of individuals that do the things that annoy me.

I'm not asking for an apology because i wouldn't expect one as it seems clear to me that your antaganising the polish population by warning us British away from Poland. NOT ALL people who go on holiday are going to behave themselves this includes Polish, British or any nation you care to mention.

As for the POLISH NOT DRINKING, that is absolute rubbish, I have been with polish people when they are drinking, i've had to help bouncers remove polish people and even had to carry a polish girl out of the club because she was so inebriated from the alcohol consumption. I don't mind its just what happens when people drink sometimes but please don't slander the British for something people of your country do just as well!!!

I'm not trying to brand the Polish in anyway what so ever but i am trying to point out the dangers of having such a narrow minded point of view

News / What is wrong with Poland that Poles emigrate? [167]

i don't need to read any of the posts, to put it simply there is nothing wrong with Poland as a whole, every nation has their problems and Poland is no difference, but to come and ask what is wrong with an individual country i find bemusing.
