UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

- seriously? Polish people go to Poland to pass driving license? I was thinking that it's one of the hardest countries to pass this exam. Look at passing rates.

indeed. well I know this one fella at work who has gone back to poland twice for his driving lessons, and has failed twice, so that seems likely, I guess he's wasted his money really

-One thing is that these immigrants are very bad for British workers. Such big number increased competition greatly and kept salaries stagnating. So I would say that everybody expect of low earning British citizens gained economically because big eastern European immigration. (by lower service prices and payed taxes)

I think the general opinion is that most british citizens are lazy. that may be true of our London overspill towns, where many poor households have developed over the last 30 years, but it is not true of each and every one of us. I am a frustrated british citizen who is finding it very difficult to stay above my money and debts, I seriously want to change my job, but it is quite literally near-on impossible to find full time work now, and this was not the case 7-8 years ago.

I guess things are the same everywhere. I wouldn't be happy if I was Polish and I knew someone that was english for 20 years and could not speak to them, I'd demand they go home. its all about Balance, I am making the first steps myself in learning the polish language, as I feel nowadays it may be a help for me to do so, I'm aware this is my choice. I just hope you see from me attempting this (one of the hardest languages in my opinion! but a cool sounding one!) I'm not against you guys in anyway!!! please remember that.

I agree with that jon357, you're right it would cause us to meltdown to probably even Greeces' level. I am not placing blame here I just wish to understand why some quite obviously have no interest in learning our language or adopting our culture, infact its quite the opposite. and at least, at my place... seems to be 95% of the workforce.

it does not bother me in the long run, only that I wish to change jobs more than anything, because I find it very distressing working where I work at the moment. (For more reasons than just not being able to understand whats going on)

That is the frustrating problem jon357, because there are so many new migrants entering, I as a british citizen am finding it extremely difficult to change jobs, as much unskilled work is going to migrants, I shouldn't have to change jobs because I feel like I'm being pushed aside in my own country, but I am looking, every single day. not one decent job lines up for english folk, only part time work or under 30 hours, which is something I Cannot do as I have things to pay for. -

Please just understand my frustration, I beg you guys. I don't want to offend anyone.

why does someone else identity affect mine? because there are so many poles that seem to refuse to want to even bond or integrate with us english folk, at work no-one speaks english, (figuratively speaking) and in my honest opinion It should be compulsory to speak english fluently before arriving to work here, at work it is extremely difficult to carry out tasks accordingly because of the alienation brit workers feel when working with poles. and the fact is, we're not all lazy *****, some of us actually want to make a go of our lives, its frustrating that I do not know what is being said and communicated at work

And yes, when you go to work 48-60 hours a week within a factory filled with polish migrants, then it does effect people

I did not mean any offense, as I only want was is best for the entire world, rather than just my country. but my country is the place I have to live, and I have expressed my concerns, thats all I can do.

Genuinely hope everyones having a good day.

I AGREE that the fabric of society is changing, but such a major change of numbers in less than ten years is having a knock on effect

again I'm sorry if I seem to be prejudice, I am not, I think what the poles did in ww2 was absolutely heroic, and won't ever forget that in my lifetime, not to mention how else our people work together out of the immigration side of things.

it will change the fabric of british society and my identity if Immigration does not stop, now, it already has been let to get too far out of hand. I knew I'd be attacked for my views but I want to know why.

No, well... then Polish people are just being plain rude if they continue to talk in the workplace in polish, as this is england, I'm afraid.

I will leave this forum now, as I know that I'm not going to get any sensible, or at least, any answers that are not negative towards my country, or my view, which may seem xenophobic but I just can't help but see the major problems arising from the mass exodus from poland to england.

again, I can only assume that the man who is learning to drive with money earnt here, but flying back to poland for lessons, has short term plans here, unless it is just a way to get a cheap EU license, which is more likely.

its a shame we were so liberal

The problem I have with the poles is that at my workplace, I know most of the workforce is polish.
Many Many of you are nice to us english people on the face of it, but I only have to come to this forum to see the truth of the matter

I see people leaving England to go back to Poland for driving lessons, essentially taking money from our system and putting it into polands system, which is going to cause this country to meltdown, then there wont be any jobs for any of us.

There seems to be an unwillingness to learn the english language too, and I feel like I am no longer in my own country, because I spend most of my time at work, it is like being in another country, and thats simply not right. its down to the poles as immigrants to learn our language before they come.

The MOST concerning part however is the money situation and how alot of our money seems to exit our system and I worry that is whats causing our recession to last forever.

These are facts as well, so I'm not trying to be mean,
I only express my worries in the hopes I can understand why you
a) import polish goods into our stores there fore sending profit to the polish companies and not english companies
b) why many of you have not a willingness to learn our language (which should of been done before deciding to immigrate)

i

sorry for the double post, I just want to clarify I'm not against you guys (poles) at all though it may sound like it, I just have worries about my country, and my own identity.
