British educational system is in deep trouble , even bigger than Polish .British educational level is much lower comparing it to Polish public universities . British universities just have some advantages from the language ( which these days is international ) and partialy from the fact you didn`t suffer the war on your soil and did not have communism, so your country did not suffer massive destruction and killings of intelligence. You may not know about the fact that 184 professors from Cracow`s universities were either killed or sent to death camps by Germans .

My friend`s daughter was admitted to Cambridge university course of psychology without any tests ,after just a conversation . I know this first hand . Her English proficiency was like native speaker`s because they were diplomats in USA for years . Why was it done ? I don`t understand , maybe they don`t have enough students theses days .

Getting back to your question . The answer is : where I studied there were no funny courses at the faculty of law and administration . It has always been law and administration . This university is UMCS in Lublin . So , my previous statements were very true. Some posters who distort facts will not be content with such news I suppose . Take a look at the long list of subjects I have had to pass . I passed 50 exams during my studies and I did not cheat because all exams were oral ( 3 students in front of the professor ) . How would you cheat in such circumstances . So stop lying about low level or cheating during exams . Maybe on your Polish private schools it is possible , but the diplomas given by such schools are worth the cost of the paper they were printed on .

Funny courses and private higher educational facilities were installed in mid 90-ies of the past century . The level of education at these private schools is so low that I don`t even try to evaluate it . It is pointless and everyone knows that . Some of you who are from GB came here just to teach English at these private schools and all you know about educational system in Poland is taken from this experience of teaching of lazy students at facilities like Koźminski private schools .

These schools have nothing to do with keeping certain level of education . They just produce thousands of future jobless youths whose preparation for further career is none.

So I could compare for example the level of biology and economics at British ,French , Canadian and Polish universities , because I have had first hand information from my family and friends .


It doesn`t matter , maybe years ago but surely not now . Look at the scores of British students in international olympiads, that says it all.

University graduates from the western part of Europe don`t have general knowledge about history , biology , mathematics , simple calculation even that compared to the 8- th grade of Polish primary school student . I have bad news Landora - In the ranking of higher education institutions in 2013 UMCS faculty of "Law and Administration", conducted by Rzeczpospolita , the department received 6-th place out of 25 classified universities in Poland.

In the ranking of pass rates for an attorney, notary and legal training conducted by the Ministry of Justice, Department of Law and Administration of the UMCS received 5 place classified out of 16 units . In 2010 it was ranked at 2 -nd place .

I have been there( in Italy ) for 3 - months period of time and several times during my ski tours ( I once had a ski injury in Cortina ) and found out how corrupted the system was . Epidural did not prevent my great pain I have been for 10 hours . I was kept under the huge stress , pain and frustration. All this because of recommendations from the ministry to save costs , because the cesarean sections are costly in comparison to natural births . They want also to manipulate the statistics to be ranked higher and tease people and delusioned voters that they live in a safe country with a safe health system , while it is nothing but deceiving potential voters . Therefore I was a victim of this propaganda .

In Poland , fortunately, there is no such pressure , and women can choose the type of birth . Moreover, in Canada, this level of professionalism is so low that the doctor ( surgean or obstetrician is not able to manipulate the fetus to be properly set up and support emerging , where in Poland it is a common practice . In Canada, even the doctor does not have such skills.

Epidural is also not given widely , because it harms more than helps . It was applied to me and since that I1ve had a constant back pain . In Poland, there are no artificially improving the rankings practices , but the appropriate level of treatment is provided .

Why do these rankings take into account factors such as natural childbirth , instead of eg the number of transplants surgeries per capita among those who are in need ? The hospital should ensure cleanliness and sterility , Poland is ahead in that than more developed countries . In these rankings , for example, they take into account the number of cancer cases , which is also unfair. Poland in 1996 was under the influence of radioactive radiation due to the Chernobyl disaster. Doctors at that time said that the incidence of cancer will increase significantly over the next years. So these statistics also lie and obscure the picture , since at the start in Poland there are more people at risk of cancer.

I have read quickly this report and I can only say it is a manipulation of data . There are factors which are irrelevant for the patient , but they are valued by its authors , like having internet site about medicines or booklets from the hospitals about procedures .

In important factors Poland ranks high or in the middle .In some factors there is nothing to do by the system , because for example cancer morbidity among Polish people is high .

Let me show you some examples : in outpatients visits per person per year , Poland is ranked 7-th , yellow color ( diagram from page 11 ). It means that supply of medical services is high In Poland , or in % of streptococcus infections prevention in hospitals Poland is almost 50 % better than Ireland or UK and 3 times better than Italy ( which means, there is a small chance you will contract bacterial infection from a hospital treatment in Poland )- page 63 .

Also this report contains Cesarean sections data, which is irrelevant . It is caused by individual tendency not the system , and moreover Polish women can choose what kind of birth they want .

There is a cesarean section on demand in Polish hospitals.

In outcomes and prevention sections which are the most important there are spheres where Poland is in the middle. We lag behind in cancer, undiagnosed diabetes or kidney transplants or dialysis. These are spheres which Polish system must improve . In these cases you have to pay for it , which I understand , because "Poland is not the richest country in Europe " and these procedures are very costly . There are only 8000 patients per year , who require that treatment, but the cost is 240 000 000 PLN.

These roads are not highways . Highways in Poland are not toll free. So , when you enter the toll booth it means you ener the highway . Othervise it is just a regular road or a highway under construction where traffic is allowed . Also some sections of the roads are already constructed as highways but because they are not finished yet according to the plan they can`t be called highways or toll can`t be collected .

This is not a thread about how you translate this or that . I used Polish word of "autostrada" , which I translated as highway , see the internet dictionary above . There is no need to argue about such a marginal thing . I can`t understand how much time you spend on arguing with people . I prefer not to use my energy on idle talking . For example we have the most modern banking system eg. we are ahead in usage of proximity cards, also we have already started mass production of graphen as the first country in Europe.

Poland is not agricultural country as one person said . This is hilarious as agricultural products account for only 4 % of Polish GDP . This branch has been changed a lot recently too . The sector which is associated with agriculture is the food processing industry and is huge in Poland .

Dear Dougpol1 - I never went for a walk with my Golden Retriever on a leash in the forest ( it is rather medium dog ) . She has had always only visible collar with our address and name. Sometimes we met strange people who resented our dog when she greeted them . But I always apologized and never had problems.

None hunter or the more an employee of state forests will not shot the dog , even wandering alone in the woods when someone is with him .

He has a duty to call the special unit under the law of hunting - 29 X. 52, (item . 300/52 and 108 /55) in spite of the fact that there is a certain provision allowing them to do that. - in art. 11 which states: employees of state forests are allowed to kill wandering dogs or cats in the circuit who are not hunting dogs , but only those unsupervised .

The persons mentioned have the right to seize and stop hunting dog , wandering in the circuit hunting , notifying the Presidium of the municipal council , in the area where the dog was captured .

Dog running slow even in the hunting field , but being available within his guide can not be regarded as a wandering dog .
So even if entitled to exercise hunting Law state forest emploee will not be entitled to kill the dog or even stop him.

Dear OP don`t feel scared or intimidated by some answers and feel free to take a walk with your puppy even in a deep forest without a leash .

See Dougpol1 , it seems that you and me are great dog lovers. But not everybody is like us , which is sad.
Dogs were always man`s greatest friends . Even if dogs harm people sometimes I strongly believe that it is always human`s fault. If the dog is treated in a proper way , given love and care he would never do anything wrong in any circumstances . As a child , 6 years old , I was bitten by a dog, but I never blamed that dog .I knew that it was the fault of the people who treated him badly . It breaks my heart when I hear in the media about someone who is cruel to animals. I must admit that some people are primitive cruel bs***rds . Look at the case of the lion named Christian . This is an example who lion can become if treated with love and care. There is a movie in the internet about this special love .

This primitive woman`s behavior in the forest has no words to describe .
The dog controlled by his owner has the same right to free running in the woods just like everyone else and everybody should respect that and it is guaranteed by Polish Law contrary to what PWeg says . In the parks there are signs to keep a dog on a leash . But it is not a case in the woods .

I wonder if a child ran up to her and violated her privacy zone ,would she use this gas spray also ? How could she say something like that seeing a tiny puppy, unbelievable .

The worst people in Poland are the rats from the corporations . She was probably this type of a person .
BTW , the campaign against killer drivers is under way in Poland now . One doctor from the ambulance service with 20 years of experience said that the biggest killers on the roads are 30 something women , corporate rats, who in court explain with no emotions that it was the fault of the victim , because he / she dared to cross the road when they were driving .

In my everyday life I see more and more people like that . I thankfully don`t have to deal with them .

So , my point is just ignore such rude people ( it is better not to argue with them , just leave them alone ) , always put a collar ( even with big red scarf around the neck ,to keep a dog visible from a great distance ), have your puppy within your sight You can even keep in your pocket certain provisions of Law with you , just in case . Many people in Poland are legal illiterates , but they have big mouth ,the less they know the biggest cry they stir up :).
