Law / Poland has too much redtape [14]

thanks for the correction on that still i like it here people on the whole are ok i guess same as everywhere.
I was told all this redtape is one of the left overs of the comunist era.
I thought ireland was bad but this place takes the biscuit but on the whole I hope this was good move for me and my family

I have been here two months and am bogged down by endless paper work, Im wondering how does this place function.
To get simple information forget about it no one knows and sends you to another person who knows even less.
I have to say this is not what i imagined prior to coming here and some regret about my decision is creeping in.
i have been in other eurozone countries and have not found this problems to the extinct of here.

Life / Does Polish society accept new people especially those not from Poland [41]

ok folks id like to wish you all a happy christmas and a peaceful new year

Merged: I'm here 2 months on going ok

I had previously posted here about moving to poland, and news so far is its going ok.
I wont say its easy by any means and have found within the english teaching game so many cowboys.
I haven't been divorced yet and when we moved here I laid down ground rules with regard to who is involved in the upbringing of our child to my suprise with the full backing off my wife, I wont say it was taken well by the inlaws but least clear lines were drawn from day one.

Life / Does Polish society accept new people especially those not from Poland [41]

drinking on the job is a no no and rightly so in my view purely on health and safety ground not to mention the imagine it sends out

I can do most things jack of all trades master of none, as for the english its a start for now.
I have completed courses from marketing, history, legal studies by that i mean industrial law as I was a union offical for a company i worked for.

My longest employment was with irish rail where i was a train driver, that is what i loved best.
English teaching would not be my ideal option on the postive side I get on well with people and they seem to like what i have to say and i feel while my experience is limited, Im the type of person who wants to learn more its good for the mind to have a project on the go.

I have to start somewhere my grasp of polish is limited with time this will improve.
The decision to move to poland is a mutal decision we made as dont get me wrong im proud of where im from but pride dont pay the bills and the fact i have a chance at a new career i dont see anything wrong with trying to improve ones situation

I can only speak for myself, I have found those from the bigger cities are less welcoming seems very slow to accept.
Where my wife is from I have to say they have always been very welcoming to me and to my family who came over for our wedding last year.

Maybe its just me but I have found that country people are more accepting.

What do you think???

thanks wroclaw,
I know it will be tough, but i'd sooner take a chance with that then be stuck here in ireland on the dole i don't want my kid to see me as a lay about taking from the state

i know i have to be cautious about this move given the fact i'll have no back up but i believe with hard work i may get by

To all many thanks for your comments to my thread and please feel free to comment further.
I know such a move to some may seem insane even stupid, none the less it is better to take this chance rather then stay here struggling.

True my savings are limited but i'm sure we will survive.
Again many thanks and merry christmas to all

and i have a good relationship with my inlaws thankfully
also my father in law knows the guy who runs the school and this guy seems genuine my father inlaw is a cop so i would trust his word
