Law / Polish temporary card (I'm a student and my visa expires) [8]

Hi, I have recently come to Poland to study and I came on a visa. My visa expires on the 19th of this month. One month after I came the dorm manager filled out a temporary residence card form for me (they do it the first time). However, that card is only valid till the 20th of this month. I would like to know if there is any way I can renew either the visa of that temporary residence card for a period longer than 3 months. Also I would prefer if someone could give me offices in Gdansk rather than in Warsaw.

Life / Polish water safe to drink? [50]

Hi I live in Gdansk and when I first came to the dorms my manager said that the water was not safe to drink and that I had to buy bottled water. Is this true? I have heard rumours of there being lead in teh water? I would really appreciate it if someone knew this answer because I am tired of carrying 10L of water up a slope every week.
