Work / About taxes ("Umowa o dzielo") and minimum wage in Poland [30]

Everybody in Poland has PESEL

Ive been working here for 3 years with umowa o pracy, I don't have a PESEL

oh and kloot, I wouldn't spend too much of your time on here speaking to this pessimistic bunch, they all told me the same **** when I first came here, I've had no problems, and from reading your posts you're more qualified than I ever was to find a job, you'll be fine!

I didn't know about those costs, 25000 euros?

I spent 1 week in hospital, including surgery, my on the spot bill was 2500zl

Love / Advice on how to make this Polish girl see me as more than a friend [23]

Im English from UK, I'm not much older than yourself, and im in a relationship with a Polish woman,
In my opinion Polish women especially the nice ones, dont usially go for looks or money, or what country
the guy is from, but they need to know that you care and that you will look after them, take care of them.

Law / Credit for British in Poland? [10]

Ok, so I've been living in Poland for 9 months, I ahave an account with Mbank, and I work on a 1 month rolling contract because I pay less tax this way.

I have a reasonable amount going into my account every month, what do I need to do to obtain any type of credit in Poland?

anybody have any experience? what bank? .......

Work / Looking for accommodation & teaching job in KATOWICE [78]

Hey guys just a quick update, as you know I left the Forum about 7 months ago due to all the negative comments,
but just a quick update, 7 months on and I'm still living in Katowice, Gliwicka st, not the most friendly place but
I haven't had any problems so far. I went on to work for Top English for the best past of the last 7 months, but

have just recently left for a school in Sosnowiec, and another small school on Sokolska just fitting in some extra hours
there as and when I can.

Not earning as much money as I would like at the moment, but then what can you expect with only 8 months experience,
but I'm going steady and the futures looking bright, there was certainly no 'crashing & burning' and no 'students complaing'
as someone suggested earlier on in the thread. In fact I have an excellent relationship with all of my students, and to be completely
honest I've not really had any major problems.

I met a very nice Polish woman 6 months ago, making my lonely life in Poland a little more manageable, and we are still going strong

to this day. :)

I'll appreciate any replies, but please have a bit of respect this time guys.

What you guys are doing is not discussing, I am happy to discuss aslong as you guys are aware that:

I'm not going back to UK.
I'm not going to stop teaching.

And stop with the remarks understating the understanding of my own English.

Then you should save the "text-speak" for other threads.

I don't need to discuss anything about teaching, I have a teaching job, I'm only interested in renting somewhere bigger.

It is a certainty that Jack will have several students whose command of English is better than his

You have NO idea of my current level of English, and if the way i rite on sum 4rum is the way u go by, then great ;)

Absolutely! One of my all-time favorites.

Ahhhhh MK isn't too bad, and honestly I don't think Katowice is that bad :) there is one main street in the centre that has all the pubs clubs, but I can't remember the name of it.

I've only been here a month anyway haven't seen much yet, I'm still getting myself settled, But I'm only 35km from Auschwitz so i want to visit there at some point.

I joined this forum in the hope that I could find a larger flat to rent,
You have all made it clear that I have no hope of getting anywhere on this forum.

So I will be leaving here now, but no I won't be leaving Poland or what i'm bieng paid to do here
whether I be literate or illiterate.

Thanks for nothing guys :)

Let professional teachers of English teach Poles properly

Ok thought I better clear things up after the last 3 posts,

No I don't have polish roots.
No I don't have anyone funding me, although I did come here with £1000, I would only have money sent from england in an emergency.

No I'm not on a break from uni, nor do I intend to ever go to uni or further my education in any way.

YES I am working at an English school in Katowice, teaching students from 17 to around 40.
I also now have a few private students that I met through students at my school.
YES I am here to stay and I did come here on my own and the oh so very young age of 19, why?..... why not?

If anyone has any problems with this? I would be happy to meet in Katowice to discuss this further, Instead of you guys just ******** behind your forum :)

the main qualification required is not a CELTA, but poor grammar and spelling.

It must be they gave me a job? only 15-20 hours a week but it's enough to pay my rent and run my car, so i'm here to stay :)
