UK, Ireland / Polish Beer In The UK [98]

Personally I find Polish beers too strong in alcohol

I know you aren't serious.....are you?

American beers kill me

Stop following the heard and drinking the American crap :) We all don't like Coors, Budweiser and Miller. There are THOUSANDS of American micro brewery's. I get a lot of this when I'm overseas. So yes...drink the crap and it's Hammer time :)

Some other good PL beer

Ciechanów Porter
Lomza Mocne
Lodzkie Porter

Food / POLISH RECIPES! [287]

Some people do come up to me in PL thinking that I'm Polish...but many know that I'm a foreigner. I speak PL like a child :) My gf teases me a little. She say's it's cute.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

how do you know there were not any alcoholic cavemen?

Alcohol has been produced by humans for over 12,000 years. It has been speculated that many ancient farming efforts were undertaken not so much for the food they would yield but rather to create the raw materials for alcohol production. Alcohol has impacted every society since caveman times in one way or another. Some have used it in worship rituals, some in social customs, some have had widespread social problems with alcohol and some have banned it altogether.

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

never had Tyskie but everyone says how good it is, what kind of beer is it?

It's a lager. Bit hoppy and not too much of an alcohol taste. Pretty good beer.

Language / Interesting Polish tongue twister. [50]

dziewięćsetdziewięćdziesięciodziewięciotysięcznik :)

One in English:

Theophiles Thistle, the successful thistle-sifter,
in sifting a sieve full of un-sifted thistles,
thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb. Now.....if Theophiles Thistle, the successful thistle-sifter,
in sifting a sieve full of un-sifted thistles,
thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb,
see that thou, in sifting a sieve full of un-sifted thistles,
thrust not three thousand thistles through the thick of thy thumb. Success to the successful thistle-sifter!

UK, Ireland / Polish Beer In The UK [98]

Yes.....Czech beer is really good. Tyskie is probably the closest to it. Bit of a hoppy flavor with a nice clean finish.

Ok fine....... Hasał huczek z tłuczkiem wnuczka i niechcący huknął żuczka. ? Ale heca... - wnuczek mruknął i z hurkotem w hełm się stuknął. Leży żuczek, leży wnuczek, a pomiędzy nimi tłuczek. Stąd dla huczka jest nauczka by niehasać z tłuczkiem wnuczka :)

I'd go to Bulgaria instead of Warsaw. Esp. in the summer :) If you go to the Baltic coast in PL you'll also have more fun than Warsaw.

I used to go to "parties" in San Francisco in the early 90's ...did it all :) Those were some interesting times....but go much worse since then. Now it's bad acid-mdms-crystal mixed with 15-16 yr olds. Bad news.
