Real Estate / Buying a property in Poland to rent out from the UK [82]

JonnyM

I know it's extremely difficult to predict but how far would you say they will fall and over what time period.

To put it into a better perspective we intend to try and sit on a property for around the 10 year mark then sell. Even if we get what we paid for it we'd still get the equity back essentially using it as a bit of a piggy bank.

Armada that's great stuff thank you. Her best friend is a bank manager and already owns 3 properties in the Gdansk area. She will be managing it for us and lives on the same street as the property that we are interested in.

As far as mortgages go Deutsch Bank are offering a mortgage in Euro's at 1.9%. Do you have any views/opinions on this?

Thanks

Great Stuff!

Jobs in Gdansk for English speakers

Hi,

i am considering relocating from the UK to the TriCity area.

Unfortunately I don't speak Polish. I'm finding it quite difficult to find any positions that I can apply for.

Can anybody help?

Travel / Area's of Warsaw worth a visit? (including outdoor camping) [9]

Me and my partner are visiting Warsaw next month and I didn't know if anybody could recommend an area of the city worth visiting away from the main tourist spots.

Ideally somewhere with some nice restaurants and bars, she is Polish so language will not pose a problem!

Unfortunately I don't, I have a very limited capacity in German but that's nothing to write home about.

Thank you though.

Real Estate / Gdansk/tri city Rental Market [15]

Great advice thanks.

Yes the place we've found is near to transit links, the coast, fairly close to the forest, shopping centre's, fairly close to the university, et cetera. It is a new developement

Deutsche Bank and PKO have financial offers that you can buy into and on the first round of translation they appear to be deposit free. this sounds a bit too good to be true so i need to have them properly looked over. Also the apartments can be supplied "fitted" so you literally get the finished article. I think that I am going to make a appointment to meet with the developers and probably the banks, i'm over there next month for 2 weeks.

I want to be armed with a load of info before I arrive there.

Real Estate / Gdansk/tri city Rental Market [15]

Thanks.

Yeah my girlfriend and her family are from Gdansk, we live in the UK but go over once or twice a year.

Essentially we can't really get onto the housing market here due to the huge deposits required so have considered buying a property there which to us would be more affordable and renting it out on 12 month or longer term contracts if possible.

It would be a longer term investment we're not after a quick buck.

If i could successfully do this with one property though I would look at acquiring one or two more going forward.

Work / Jobs for non Polish speakers? [24]

Are there mid to high level jobs in Poland for non native speakers.

Are there companies that use English as their primary business language?

If so where? And in what sectors?

I currently work in the design/advertising industry!

So are you based over there? This would be my first investment. What I'm trying to get my head around is how easy it is to do this from the UK.

Thank you though most helpful!

How did you get on with the developer? Did you buy from the UK or in Poland?

Thanks I'd already spotted this development. I will send you the details of another one later.

Real Estate / Gdansk/tri city Rental Market [15]

Can anybody advise me on the state of the rental market in Gdansk at the minute.

Also does anybody know if there are hordes of empty apartments sat there with nobody to rent them?

Empty Apartments in Poland?

Hi

Can anybody tell me if there is an abundance of empty apartments in Poland due to over supply. I know that this has been an issue in the UK.

I am considering buying an apartment to rent out over there and essentially need to know how easy I will find it to rent an apartment to somebody.

I'm particularly interested in the tri city area.

Cheers

PK

We will have somebody to manage it for us. Where did it fall down for you? I'm after honest info so bad experiences as well as good are helpful. Thanks for you reply.

Real Estate / Buying a property in Poland to rent out from the UK [82]

Me and my partner (who is a Polish national) want to buy an apartment in Gdansk and rent the apartment out whilst living in the UK.

Does anybody have any experience of this.

I am trying to understand the process that I will have to go through and how difficult this may or may not be. Also any problems that I might encounter.

Any information based on personal experience of this would be useful.

Thanks
