Study / Coming as a foreign Exchange Student - Information about school life in Poland [11]

Hello my name is Brandon and I am going to an Exchange student to poland during 2011-2012 school year, and I was just wanting to find out what I can expect while Im over there if anyone can help me out please do!!!

Wish someone could help me with this, and there is supposed to be the word "BE" between "TO" and "AN" in the first sentance.

Law / Question about the drinking laws of Poland. [45]

Ok I'm 16 years old and going to Poland, when I get there I will be 17. Now I am pretty sure Poland has no set "drinking age" but you have to be 18 to purchase and I was just wondering how strict Poland enforces that law. Now I'm not just going to Poland to drink, I was just curious so keep that in mind.

Ok thanks guys and gals but to Lodz that is not the reason I am going to Poland, I'm going there for education I was just curious about it, and since the law is 18 I won't drink while I'm over there, but anyway I had another question, I play basketball over here and I love it, and I was wondering how popular the sport is over there and if there is a lot of kids that play it.

Language / Cheap way to learn polish [9]

Ok well my name is Brandon and I am coming to poland around August to stay there for nine months and go to school. Now me and my family have been looking for some programs online to help me speak polish. We have tried Pimsleur for german, (because I thought I was going to germany) and it was good but they just ended up sending us more and more stuff and charging us, so we canceled and cant get that anymore. Then the rosetta stone would be nice, but it is just to expense, so if anyone has any suggestions for me I will greatly appreciate it.

Hey my name is Brandon and Im going to Poland for nine months as an foreign exchange student. When I get to Poland I will be seventeen, and I was just wondering what are some typical things that seventeen year old kids do in Poland for fun? Any help anybody can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Hague I'm from the USA and I wanted to go to Poland, because it has always been my dream to go to school in europe and now I have that chance. At the moment I don't know where I am going, I won't find that out in till june or july. I will depart for Poland around the middle of august to get adjusted to the whole culture change before I go to school. I have tried learning some polish, but so far I have'nt found anything that was cheap and effective, so I suppose I will have to get the expensive rosetta stone, because I want to know at least the basic polish before I go.

Well Krakow would be awesome, but really it does'nt matter to me just as long as I get a fair sized city with a good student atmosphere, so Krakow would be the place I would want to go. But I dont really get to choose where I go, the rotary club finds a family and sticks me there, but I think I will have a good chance to get a bigger city, because there is only two kids including myself going to poland through the rotary club. Oh and to tygrys I like ketchup on my pizza too lol.

Life / What is Poland's view on obesity? How healthy, fit are Poles? [166]

Hello my name is Brandon and I'm going to poland for nine months as an exchange student through the rotary club. Now I was just wondering what poland's view on obesity is? I'm from the united states and as most the world knows we are the fattest country in the world, and I was curious how poland looks at fat people and how they view obesity in general. And also how much into personal fitness revolves around polish life.

Well i guess i am sort of overweight I'm 6 foot 200 pounds, but im active and play sports, I was just asking this question, because over here in the US we get the impression that all the other countries are super fit and frown on people if they are overweight. But thanks for all your comments.

Hey guys I'm back, I'm the kid going to Poland as an exchange student for a year and I have finally found out where I am going to be staying at in Poland. I will be staying in Częstochowa, and I have googled the city, but cant really find out too much about the place, so I was wondering if you guys could give me some good info on the place. Hey, I'm going to czestochowa to be an exchange student, and I need to know if Poland has any stores that offer bigger clothing sizes, like 3x. I'm a big guy and could wear 2x but like bigger shirts. Any help would be appreciated.
