History / Poland must get back Lwow, Wilno and Brest back [318]

And Russia doesn't want take even Donetsk (which would be a huge economic burden for Russia).

I think Russia wait till whole Novorussia will be ready to reunite, to get back whole bunch of Russian land given by Lenin to newly created Ukrainian republic for their political reasons.

Off-Topic / Does Gavrilo Princip deserve monument in Poland? [89]

Now I got it. The most authoritative opinion about the taste of Polish chicken soup is the opinion of a dumpling floating in a plate. ;)

What is the fekking difference?

What Pilsudsky did is working to legitimize the current ruling elite and gives it additional political weight. And those who gave their lives, having laid the foundation for the processes that led to the next spasm of Polish statehood, are insignificant slag.

Serbian nationalism is the stupidest nationalism in Europe, even worse than Catalan nationalism

I would understand this sentence from someone else, but not from Polish guy. ;) Try to ask your neighbours (any of them) how polish nationalism is looking from the side.

News / Modern F-35 bought by Poland. Good decision? [282]

Poles (according to earlier posts to this thread) already very busy looking for nukes to load on their new wunderwaffe, and deciding what is first - duty or pleasure (you should know that joke). ;) Nobody take care to calculate total cost of ownership yet.

I can only wish good luck to polish pilots, who have to fly on that super high-tech coffins and must believe that they are invisible mans. ;)

... unless this F-35 will not be used just like Javelins is used by Ukraine - storage in a well guarded warehouse only, without any usage in the field allowed. ;)

Drones are much cheaper and more practical.

Yes, if used against some third world country. Use of "global coverage" drones against country that already have means to destroy or damage comm/control satellites will be problematic.

This does not make F-35 purchase by Poland more reasonable, though. ;)

Memo to Poland: cancel that order

Impossible. Because this is not the regular order, but the way to pay pizzo to US.

Polish politicians probably forgot, that pizzo is sized to be affordable, but has to be paid regularily, it is not one time payment. ;) Next time it will be huge lot of spare parts for that F-35 (absolutely neccessary to protect Poland from Russia, and overpriced just like jets itself). Then hundred of new updated helmets, custom made for each pilot. And again... And once more... And...

There is good thing for Russian developers that F-35 will be regularily available in the air nearby, to test advanced realtime "destealthing" software updates for S-400. ;)

Maybe if Poland gets too annoying, it might get a new smolensk moment? Who knows

Smolensk moment was due to internal stupidity, not due to outside annoyance.

But stupidity can be very annoying as well, and cause much more problems that sudden career growth for a large number of politicians....

Poland ... poising a mortal threat to Russia.

Who said you that BS? Poland by itself does not pose any threat, because even while completely brainwashed, Poles still care about yourself, their children, and the land they plan to continue to live in future (just like Russians). Threat is NATO bases that is de-facto controlled from large distance by someone who does not care at all about both polish people and the land.

Let's name things by their own names. Trump said that it's time to "fari vagnari u pizzu", if you sell russophobia to the world, you have to pay their share to the masters who made this item sellable to a third parties and who offer their advertising support. United States have problems, and funding of Poland from EU is also coming to the end, so now it is time to pay something to "big boys", supporting their economy and taking away some of monetary losses, linked to F-35 program. Later it will be harder to find money to pay.

We all know the reality - some clunky 80s Sukhoi

Then why Polish politicians need such large loads of fresh diapers once they hear the word "Russia"?

Russophrenia - "a condition where the sufferer believes Russia is both about to collapse, and take over the world."

(including taking the huge damage that stealth Raptors are able to cause

... in your wet dreams and in a manufacturer advertising booklets. Maybe F-35 is little bit "stealth" to 1960's style soviet X-band radars that is used by African countries, but you have to be very lucky to sneak into russian airspace hoping to be invisible to all overlapping systems of different bands.

Can you tell me, why there was panic once Turkey tried to have S-400 and F-35 in the same hands?

News / Nuclear Power in Poland? Yes, please! Absolutely nobody disagrees! [73]

To what degree ?

Depends of reactor type. In any case, a lot of uranium still there, but cannot be used further safely after some point, set by reactor designers.

"Most" is the key word here

Most active - short lived ones who give huge activity and strong heating first months after unloading. It is why such rods stored in a pools with water near reactor for cooling. After short lived nuclides decay and heating decrease to a level that can be managed by transport containers, rods can be transported to a long storage near reprocessing factory, for years. After activity is decreased further due to decay, rods will be disassembled and remaining uranium and some other valuable elements (including some transmutated ones) extracted. The rest will be treated as active waste, dried and fused into glass blocks to be buried for millennias.

If memory serves me correctly, if you buy your rods from Russia, you have an option to get a "full lifecycle" contract. You receive fresh fuel, and rods is taken back after they depleted and sit for necessary period in a station fuel cooling pools to let most active nuclides decay so rods can be transported.

invent a mouse flavored cat food.

Invent a cat-proof container as well, otherwise you will be unable to transport your product to retail stores. ;)

Travel / Which Poland's city is LGBT friendly? [43]

BTW: Is there any cities in Poland that are zoophile friendly? The pride parade with beloved dogs, sheeps and goats would be so picturesque ...

Unfortunately, pride parade of necrofiles is a thing that is hardly possible...

Life / Why are Poles in other countries called "Plastic Poles"? [168]

So many posts, so many versions...

In Russia, term 'Plastic Pole' is understood by many people as a foreign citizen of polish origin that have no links to Poland other than plastic of "Karta Polaka". ;) And for countries that are not eligible for this document - just someone of polish origin who do not share any real interests with Poles living in Poland.

History / Why is Poland such an American boot licker? [60]

Turns out there are 10 cellphone manufacturers in Russia so plenty of choice.

Choice is very rich, of course. And people who never looked on anything lesser than Apple and Samsung recently found that those strange "Honor" smartphones that is everywhere, is actually Huawei products (nobody reads fine print on a price tag), and very nice for the price. ;)

I bought Huawei Honor 7c once Trump administration started to "pressure" Huawei. Just to support chinese brothers little bit. ;)

I see the topic of Poland sucking Am d... is so dear to your heart

To be honest, I don't like the idea that in response to a possible attack, the decision about which was made overseas, Russia will have to nuke the Slavic land for their own survival. But the "nowa szlachta" seems to consider this option acceptable.

History / Why is Poland such an American boot licker? [60]

The change was handled atrociously

So, maybe you will understand why:

- After a death of Egor Gaidar (de-facto author of "shock therapy" plan) the most popular example of poetry was 'Epitah On The Politician' by Hilaire Belloc

Here richly, with ridiculous display,
The Politician's corpse was laid away.
While all of his acquaintance sneered and slanged
I wept: for I had longed to see him hanged.

- Once online news sites reported about first attempt to put plate "Nemtsov Bridge" on a Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge by opposition activists, first comments suggested to Moscow authorities to prepare convenient places for memorial plates on all Moscow bridges, including pedestrian ones in parks.
