Love / Strange definition of "sexy hair" by Polish women [5]

I wonder why the women, not so long ago combed their hairs in such strange way. For example Polish Miss World Aneta Kreglicka during the contest in 1989 has hairs like this:

And this wasn't only the Polish or European fashion to have such coiffure. She won Miss World, so I think, that such hairs had to be very popular. But I do not understand wy ? Such hairs are ugly and nowadays only old women have hairs like this. Our fathers and mothers were blind ? For me such hairs were never beautiful.

Travel / Białowieża National Park in Poland [461]

Hi all,

I'm a little tired from National Mourning, so I post some beautiful photos and videos of Bialowieza. Why ? Because I do not whant any more to participate in depression. Mourning-yes, but what we see in Polish media, radios and TV it's nothing more than national depression.

So, just to remember how Poland is beautiful - I present Białowieża. Maybe some of You have more photos in private collections ? If so, post it here. This region is definitely worth to see.

History / Polish armored trains form I and II World War [32]

Thank You for all answers and for a link.

You says that armored trains were like battleships. I like this metaphore. I think, that nowdays such trains won't be very usefull. To easy to see and to hard to get into the battle. Evan as long range artillery its better to use guns on wheels rather on railways.

History / Polish armored trains form I and II World War [32]

So I'm a little confused.

no one knows nothing? :(
so maybe I share what o found: tankmuseum.ru/train.html compedium about this vehicles

but still, I'm wondering, how usefull armored trains were during battle.

History / WWII - Wolf's Lair. Valkyria operation had place in Poland's bunker complex. [11]

Hi,
I found some info, that operation Valkyria (Hittler assasination atempt) had place in Poland in bunker complex called wolf's lair) anglopolish.com/index.php/component/content/article/10-place-to-visit/22-wolfs-lair-today

Does anyone have more informations and pics from this complex? I wonder how big it was.
Why Hitler built it and why he spend there so many time during war? Was he commanding his troops from there or only on "holiday"?
