Real Estate / Buying a flat in Krakow; prices are still falling? [200]

I still believe the property prices in Poland will be no different to anywhere else in the world. All bubbles burst,it is deflating at the moment but once the illusion is realised it will quickly return to Polish prices.

Real Estate / Relocating in Poland - what's the best area? [56]

I think the secondary education system in Mainland europe Poland is pretty complex compared to the one size fits all b*llsh1t we have here in Ireland and i think in Britain. I think enkidu may have a point but its a little too pointy maybe, as for

(I'm fully aware that in Poland, there would be Spanish levels of youth unemployment if it wasn't for the universities soaking up vast amounts of young people!)

I fully agree with this point.

This is not the time to buy. Those people whose apartments tripled in value in 4 years honestly think(believe the hype that they are rich) they will sell now for only 10 or 20 % less.. They can dream on if they think that they are not living in the same world(major world recession-depression) as the rest of us. People who tell you to buy now are either sellers or ....!!!! actually only sellers would advise that.

Real Estate / The current property boom in Poland is a bubble [342]

If property triples or doubles in price over a short period of 3 yrs..Its a bubble...In Ireland the prices and wages tripled and it is now world famous world champion bubble burster.

Wages are as sh1t as ever inPoland and property has gone through the roof so its a bubble. Simple fact

Real Estate / The current property boom in Poland is a bubble [342]

well according (wikapedia)to this they must
Over the span of years 2002-2008 real estate prices in Poland have increased drastically. Between June 2006 and June 2007 alone the average price of a square metre in Warsaw rose from 6,683 PLN (1,636 EUR) to 9,540 PLN (2,519 EUR) (over 50% rise in euro terms).[1]

According to a major Polish newspaper, Gazeta Wyborcza, the average monthly salary in Warsaw buys 0.26 m2, or in Kraków 0.22 m2.[2]

Same sources give rental profitability at 4% yearly. This is lower than interest rates on bank deposits (5% in Polbank etc.).[2]

In early 2007 the Polish property market began to show early signs of a property bubble; these included:

* banks increasing loan periods from 30 to 50 years to extend credit limits;
* over 1 million families already in debt, and roughly 300,000 more going in debt every year;

Its amazing how little discussion there is on this forum in relation to the massive property bubble in Poland..

buyinghousepoland.co.uk/polish-passports-visas.htm

I wonder why the"Discussion" button has not worked on the above for several months now.
I remember seen things like this before on Irish real-estate websites before the pop..

UK, Ireland / Moving from Ireland to Poland [29]

Disillusioned with Ireland. As an Irish person i can safely say its great in Ireland economically compared to Poland..Their gangster banker politicions etc are big bad wolves as well. The way I look at it is that if you have to work and pay a mortgage over there you will be enomically f0cked for the rest of your life. Even to build over there is as expensive as Ireland and the wages there are 4 to 6 time lower...

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people importing a new wave of ancient racism into the UK? [402]

I think there is a lot of hot air reactionary bullsh1t talked here..People move from country to country for external reasons outside their control.. The movement of people will always happen, has always happened so deal with it. Society needs proper government not just freemarket dogs who drag in foreigners like cattle to work for buttons. There are plenty of white individuals in every government who are racist to the bone and who would let half of Nigeria into England France etc etc if they were to personally profit from it.

The Brits had a high demand for unskilled labor in the 1950s and they cried out for immigrants..American cry out for Mexicans etc etc.. The Irish and EU were delighted to expand EU so to bring in cheap labor from the former Soviet states..The fear now is that The Poles abroad cannot return home because the wages at home are so sh1t that they can only maintain their super-inflated (Polish)mortgages and rare their children by remaining in the west. Then the low wage economy of Poland will be swamped by Belarusian and Ukrainians. The Poles will then be complaining big time, even grannies will be shaving of their hair to join the impulse, reactionary ,dog chasing tail skinheads.Something needs to be done that does not include the solutions of the nazi right and the colourless soft left.

The solution will most definatly not include mentally illiterate, scumbag, soccer thugs

Soccer tribalism is just the containment of the most brainless people in society..There needs to be a solution to immigration but to think that a bunch of mentally ill sexually frustrated, uneducated scumbags could be part of the solution is absolute nonsense..If an enemy came near these pussies they would **** their pance run home to their mammies.

I think its a combination of brain damage inflicted by the second world war and communism and more recently crap capitalism...The Poles giving out about black people immigrants and Jews seems illogical and stupid as its based on an unpresent enemy.. All that brainwashing, supressing national identity, imprisonment and mass murder since 1939 has left a lot of people especially the uneducated poor in a sad state of grey rage,,They are free to hate.. However a lot of that skinhead bu11shit was imported from the UK so i doubt the brits need to worry about turning more racist from what i remember from living there in the early ninties.

History / Friedrich Nietzsche - Polish or German ? [73]

I think Nietzche had a strong inbuilt bullsh1t detector..I like his view on the slave mentality and i also like the way it was developed by Thomas szasz.I heard a lecturer from the states say that he lectured in Harvard in the sixties when Nietzche was addded to the curriculum and a lot of students had nervous breakdown when they read him.. He claimed that this type of depressed hysteria did not happen in Europe, but in America It was too much for their timid minds of american optimism. The effects Nietzche had on Poland? i have no idea, France for sure, i dont think the Polish pope would have like him so....

News / Decoded talks inside Poland's president's plane are released in Internet [337]

What happens if the decoded talks show that it was a case of authoritarianism - in the direction of the Polish President. He had a reputation for been pig headed and intolerant as we all know. If he has to be somewhere no fog will get in his way etc etc..

Or maybe the crash was a case of classic group-think, that did not ivolve the expertise of the pilots. This would be a massive embarrassment, especially after burying the President in sarcophagus. Lech Aleksander Kaczyński in a matter of minutes would turn from hero to villan.

If one of the above is the case, I would imagine that the truth would never be released in the name of patriotism and the greater good. To put it bluntly it would be a cover up.

Study / 90% of Poles have university degree? [57]

Yea its a huge problem here for sure. Low grades are now accepted as colleges want to hold on to numbers and other colleges basically selling qualification so you get them in quarter the time. Everybody is now stayng in college to get masters in the hope that the economy will have picked up in the mean time lol.

Looks like we are returning back to feudilism. Distinction decided on bloodlines.

Work / Minimum basic salary in Poland [96]

Is that what it's like when you don't work in Krakow, leaving it all to your badly educated, bible bashing wife while you sit at home and pretend to be an internet "entrepreneur" who doesn't even pay taxes in Poland? I guess checking adult profiles doesn't pay very well...

are you talking to me in some coded message or what?? or are you just mental?

Work / Minimum basic salary in Poland [96]

Just over 2 Euro an Hour(4 times lower than Ireland). Thats why couples get 50 year mortgages and live on lettuce and milk until they get so old that their kids continue their mortgage..A real utopian society.

Study / 90% of Poles have university degree? [57]

I thinks this is a world wide problem and not just Poland. Its the effect of an unregulated market economy. Degrees, masters,PHD,super PHD with wings get them in McDonalds soon with a milkshake. No point anymore in having these pieces of paper unless you know the right people. Qualifications are no longer a mark of distinction if every Tom Dick and Harry has them.

Real Estate / PLN 2,500 the going rate for an apartment in Poland [210]

I agree with AJ here as for that other ape man Thatcher rant, what a load of b0l0x.
I think Poland could not be further from an equilibrium. It is still as much as ever Gods playground. Hijacked by the free market that manipulate the country as if its a game of monopoly.

I think its the eastern country that is been punished the most as its property purchasing section of the population is abroad earning a wage that is very far removed from the Polish salary. The hijacked property market is the spear in the side of Poland. Mean while they have a government that rallied under the flag of lets do as Ireland done, the blind leading the blind. I wonder what Donalds slogans is now "lets not do as Ireland done".

I firmly believe that Poland did not get the full effect of the world recession because its in an eternal recession. If your sleeping on the floor you cant fall out of the bed.

History / Friedrich Nietzsche - Polish or German ? [73]

I think old fred was a citizen of the world type..The aristocracy was all he agreed with and wanted to belong to. German or Polish would be seen as herd division to him.

But in general im with "Mak" above all the way, he seems to have hit the nail right on the head.

Real Estate / PLN 2,500 the going rate for an apartment in Poland [210]

Well wages are at least 4-6 times higher in Dublin so im talking euro not zloty...Paying 2500 zloty in a Polish city would be like paying 2500 euro in Dublin except in Dublin it is closer to 1000..Outside of Dublin a 4 bedroom house to rent for a month is less than a weeks wages...

Real Estate / PLN 2,500 the going rate for an apartment in Poland [210]

So how much is a furnished 60m2 apartment in central Dublin with all bills paid?

Well its nowhere near 2500 euro if you want to use equivalence, maybe 1000...No one in Dublin is anway near as ripped of as this..

But i suppose they will squash 6 people in..what a mess you'd be better off in a hostel
