It is just a smokescreen.
Why would PIS even NEED this ruling to change the law? They have a single majority in parliament. It's not an issue that requires an amendment to the constitution. They could go ahead and pass a law right here, right now, that would ban abortion completely. But they don't. And they didn't the other three or whatever times when the draft law was submitted to parliament by pro-lifers. The draft laws were always stuffed into the trash after first reading, with Kaczyński always voting against adopting them. It is nonsensical to say they suddenly decided to implement the thing they trashed a number of times before, and that they'd need some weirdo roundabout methods of doing it by first obtaining the court's ruling on the matter.

Everyone was pissed with PIS about their retarded lockdown measures, their lack of preparation for muh second wave, the anti-fur law, Sasin's 70 million, etc. etc. etc. So they took this ruling straight out of their ass because they knew it would redirect (or at least redistribute) the outrage from themselves onto other entities, and that the people would start arguing amongst themselves again instead of burning down the parliament building.

It was a trap that all the local retards very predictably walked into. I would say Kaczyński is brilliant to know his enemies so well and to anticipate their reactions with such precision if the entire thing wasn't so foocking sad.

The constitutional court made a ruling that parts of the law on abortion are unconstitutional, which means they need to be changed. Yes, this includes things like terminal conditions of the fetus that are going to lead to certain deff after birth.

However, the court does not have executive or legislative power. Abortion won't be "banned" until the law is amended to do that. And:

- Various governments in recent history straight up ignored the rulings of the court on matters they found inconvenient.
- The action that needs to be taken after the ruling is issued has a very comfy deadline, which while I don't know what it is specifically, I think it might even be two years?

- The law can be amended with enough legal gymnastics to appease the ruling while not actually changing anything.
- The most likely course of action will be that the law will be amended to continue allowing abortions of children with terminal conditions but will prohibit aborting cases such as downies.

- The government had countless occasions to ban abortion before but didn't. To think it will do so now is lunacy.

This is a gigantic nothingburger, and as each and every single other abortion drama of the last five years, it's based on nothing but lies and is heated up by demagogues who profit from people's ignorance regarding the legislative process and general lack of political knowledge in order to further their own agenda. And I'm once more profoundly disgusted by it.

You are missing quite a few variables here:
- can you really accurately pre-determine if a child will die within a few hours and can that accurately be regulated per law?
- there *IS* also the Moral complicatiion of the murder of a human, just because this human is disabled. That a fetus isn't alive is not a scientific fact, what life is is a highly debated topic because it's foocking complicated. The Law can only ever define if a fetus can have rights.

This whole issue is not easily solved and the "but it's the womens body" thing is just a feminist construct, to have only women have a say in reproduction, you can not expect everyone to believe that (sh!t).

Just listen to what you are saying here, even if you argue that the polish government does not know better, you deem the women to be the sole arbiter of what is right and what is not. That is not better in the least, there is (or should be) at least one more person involved, possibly 2.

I do not have a good answer on that topic personally, currently I am more occupied with understanding how Abortion can or can not be fair when looked at the opposing interest of the sexes, but that this is clear and done deal is a ridiculous position.

In fact I would assume that this will be an issue that will never be fully "solved".

Consider this:
Rudolf Diesel ran his diesel engine on vegetable oil and peanut oil. He didn't have access to fossil fuel.
He wrote a whole manifesto for his hopes the working class in villages and towns the world over would grow their own fuel and use it to power the diesel engine.

He died under (what some would call suspicious circumstances) on his way to Britain to convert their submarine fleet from petrol to diesel.
Petrol engines were 3x less efficient than diesel engines and yet it was petrol engines that were given to the public in Britain until the fuel crisis in the 70s that prompted the turbo diesel attachment to speed up the diesel engine.

All of the most reliable engines in every industry that fuelled the growth of the west were almost entirely diesel because of efficiency and reliability.

The fuel "diesel" was only named after Rudolf Diesel died, and most people are completely unaware that alternative fuels can be used to power the diesel engine.

Most people I've brought this up with think petrol is for petrol engines and diesel for diesel in much the same way as you would say electricity is for powering an electric car.

The reasons for not using vegetable oil (a clean burinig fuel without the polluting effects/contaminants of fossil fuel) are all weak.
The engine is essentially the same today as it was 100 years ago.

So in summary, if black Africans stopped killing white South African farmers, and learned the skill of farming from them...it could solve a lot of problems for them and other countries. And it could go a long way towards solving one big problem.

But then governments wouldn't get everyone financing electric cars that are just PCs on wheels would they? Electric cars that are not going to be financially viable to repair, so the working classes are going to be shackled to financing them/trading in every few years for the entirety of their driving lives.

So there it is. Pollution is real, but it needs to be seperated from what is the transfer of wealth and socialism under the politics of "global warming".

Post-'89 Polish foreign policy always openly supported any attempts of any eastern european or post-soviet state to democratize and westernize. In the case of Belarus this also included things such as polish public TV operating a TV channel airing in Belarussian and Russian.

Kicking as many states out of Russian orbit is geopolitically in Poland's interest. Of course it also just so happens Belarus shares a border and is in close military ties with Russia, which adds further reason for Poland to support a change in status quo on Belarus, even if it is fabulously optimistic to think Belarus will happily switch sides away from being a Russian staging ground (Crimea showed the problem with that).

There's also historical baggage similar to Ukraine (polish minority, parts were former polish land in ancient history etc.), but that's usually just a smokescreen for the plebeians. There's also a Belorussian minority in Poland. So the usual eastern european mess.

Eh, the Belarusians are getting beaten up pretty badly by the riot police. Hopefully it will end up with another Maidan but without annexations and war, which would damage the region again (including Russia).

Also, yet another example of Eastern Euro protests that do not feature smashing shops, looting them, throwing rocks at apartment blocks, burning regular people's cars, pulling random people out of lorries, forcing other regular people to crawl on their knees, etc. Very focused on the state.

The knee-jerk reaction against the protests just because the Dems and such support them is unwarranted. Say, they were supporting Ukraine too, and it now has unprecedented freedoms for the nationalist right, unlike Russia where everyone is in prison. Broadly speaking, they tend to support some of the better states like Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, etc. for foreign policy reasons even as they unsuccessfully try to push them for internal politics.

Powodem, dla którego prawica stale się cofa, jest fakt, że zasadniczo nie chcą angażować się we wzajemne wyniszczenie. Gdy konflikt osiągnie pewien poziom, prawica będzie na ogół oferować niewielkie ustępstwa, aby go zakończyć. Natomiast lewica jest gotowa zniszczyć kraj w służbie swojej sprawie.

Ponieważ każdy, kogo to określenie dotyczy i jest publicznie widoczny, jest pełen gówna. Każdy "odważny, wolnomyślicielski" jest lewicowym radykałem, który absolutnie nie jest w konflikcie z głównym nurtem. Dzieje się tak, ponieważ lewica ma absolutną metapolityczną władzę i dlatego może forsować każdą narrację, jakiej chce, a obecnie przeważnie nawet rażące kłamstwa.

Czy mogli to zrobić kilka dekad temu? Nie, ciągle przesuwają Overton window. Prawdą jest, że boomersi mogli łatwo zatrzymać ten trend. Dziś istnieje realne, a w pewnym momencie zaistniało niebezpieczeństwo, że jeśli się odezwiesz, możesz stracić pracę.

Jednak patrząc na lata 50. lewicowi ideolodzy byli w bardzo podobnej sytuacji i w tym czasie media nie były pod ich kontrolą i same musiały wystąpić przeciwko mainstreamowi. Ale udało im się wprowadzić ogromne zmiany, nawet bez władzy politycznej.

Teraz pytanie brzmi, jak wiele z tego można powtórzyć po prawej stronie. Brakuje mu poparcia światowych elit. Jednak jego ideologia, na przykład dwie płcie kontra dwa miliony, narody posiadające własne kraje kontra genocyd, katolicyzm kontra szatan, jest zakorzeniona w rzeczywistości. Ale jeśli piszesz biznesowy e-mail bez języka gender, może to wpędzić cię w kłopoty, co tu mówić o wystąpieniu bezpośrednio przeciwko elitom. Zasadniczo wymaga to ludzi, którzy nie przejmują się własną przyszłością.

I just read it out of curiosity, and much like all other such subversive legalese, it's pretty nefarious. For a longer while I was wondering what the big deal was about it, because for the most part it's your standard "plz think of the poor exploited ppls in bad families who stay silent out of fear, here's sum statistics." Eventually it gets much more juicy in the section dedicated to practical measures that should be taken to combat abuse/violence (not just domestic), namely working against traditional gender roles and definitions, or concepts derived from religion.
