Life / Feeling ashamed of my Polish heritage. [237]

Please don't flame me. But as of now I am not too proud of being Polish and its bothering me

Your family members before you suffered and struggled to live and to get you to the place you are now. Don't you dare dishonor them with this "poor me" bullsh*t. Those people didn't exhaust themselves so you could live your life staring at your shoes. I'm glad most of my ancestors originated from Poland. They were tough, kind, and hard working people whom I have great respect for and vicariously love Poland because it produced them. You are lucky to have Polish ancestry.

That is all.

USA, Canada / Most common ancestries in the USA [56]

Interest in Americans ancestry is seeing a huge resurgence. The "melting pot" idea has been replaced with the "salad bowl" reality. Unfortunately, politics has seen it beneficial to divide people into distinct demographics.

The English have been here so long that they have basically been diluted and not much remains except surnames. The Germans are here in great numbers, just a read through a phone book in any city will make that fairly obvious. Possibly events 70 years ago made them take the tact that being German is just something best not over-advertised for a generation or two.

As Americans we give each other a lot of crap with regard to European origin stereotypes, Its all in fun though. We even still refer to Yankees and Rebels quite often. I wish Europeans could have as much fun with this sort of thing as we do. Maybe you do.

News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [404]

Of course. Would you like to elaborate on this? Please describe for me the opportunity lost to you due to the US. Please detail how you have suffered at our hands. I'm sure you are too international to have loyalty to any country, but, would you mind telling me where you are from? Are you a Gypsy?

UK, Ireland / Brits to protest against foreigners in the workforce, including Poles. [289]

The British government is clearly involved in the breaking of the British as a people. All the other things (racism, etc.)are simply a means to an end. Results will tell you what the motive is. I've told you what the results are. It could be as simple as softening up the people to finally be rolled into the EU, or something more nefarious. I don't know. What I can tell you is this, The government has long stopped serving the indigenous people and makes no attempt to protect its sovereignty. They have a long range goal. What do you think it is?

Whatnext
You are a dear, intelligent person with the common sense that is rare among people today. Keep seeing the world as it is and ignore those who seek to present it to you as they wish you to see it. You are a true patriot for your nation. Don't be too harsh on the Poles, They are also tools in the hand of the powerful. Their day will come in their homeland aswell.

News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [404]

Never really understood the need for Patriot missiles in Poland. Who are we protecting from what?? If Europe has worries against others, (It doesn't) let them build their own stuff. Americans are pretty tired of paying for others security (or occupation if you desire) and then getting nothing really in return. I would love to see our troops come home and let the other powers do as they will. It would be hillarious to see Russia rebuild the soviet union and finally gain all of western Europe this time. China take Japan, oh the revenge they would take on the Japanese! How I would love to see us off the world stage just to watch the show that ensued! I believe thats what the world wants also. Lets do this!!!

Were Norwegians wiped out? :O
Or are they counted as Germans?

Many Norwegians in Wisconsin. In my school you were either Norwegian or Polish.

I am American, but my ancestery is Polish, Irish, Brit, and Native. I am a collection of the best that humanity has to offer. I fear I may even be Immortal. My drinking ability is the stuff of legend.

Although I consider most of Europe to be inbred, I am willing to share my superior seed with European females under the right conditions. I would ask all ladies interested in calving a superior child to E-mail me a picture of yourself and place an initial bid (in USD) for my generous services. Its not about the money, I do this for the greater good.

USA, Canada / How to get Drivers license in IL without social security? [96]

Perhaps a good question here would be "Why do citizens bother to subject themselves to laws that foreigners can ignore at will?" or "Why are legal citizens now 2nd class in their country of birth?" Hows bout that?

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

People become wealthy by being frugal. Second hand clothes make sense. Besides, If you would judge me by the percieved value of the clothes I'm wearing, you are exactly the kind of person I would not want to associate with. I've seen plenty of people with nice clothes and new cars who really haven't got a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out. Smart people, those Poles!

UK, Ireland / Recently beaten up in England by 3 Polish guys [93]

Well, it is something similar to the fake ways of some Brits and Americans when they ask how you are or say 'have a nice day' as they secretly wish you dead.

Wrong. Silence means we wish you dead. Not looking you in the eye means you are already dead to us.

USA, Canada / What do the Poles hate and love about the U.S.? [170]

I think both parties screw us pretty much equally. I tend to vote for grid-lock. The government that spends all its time fighting with itself usually has little time to ruin my day.

:/

USA, Canada / What do the Poles hate and love about the U.S.? [170]

As a corporation I can finally buy my very own politician without telling anyone how much I paid. Long live corporate personhood... ;)

I don't disgree. Knowing the history of the corporate charter, I don't think they should be allowed to contribute to any candidate. I also don't believe that my union or any foreigners should be allowed either. Only individual human US citizens. Fair enough?

Food / Do Polish restaurants use dead dogs fat as a delicacy for you to eat? [41]

Dogs are quite tasty! We had a dog named "Rex" that was the most delicious meal I've ever had. We nearly got busted by some PETA types though, they saw the dog chained to a tree in the back yard pulling itself along by its front legs. When they asked what had happened, I told them he had been hit by a car and had his rear legs amputated. The truth was that we had cooked his rear legs and was saving the rest of him for a birthday celebration! Boy, animal rights types sure are stupid!

yet pass bills that steal the peoples freedom faster than a 12.4 litre American Mustang running the 1/4 mile.

This differs from anywhere else in what way?

Why can't the tax be included in the price which is displayed? is there a reason for this?

Yes.
Hidden taxes, (even though they exist) are generally frowned upon by the masses. It is considered sneaky or dishonest. It serves as a reminder that the state has chosen to profit from your transaction.

Life / Can foreigners really understand Poles? [136]

I wounder whatever is possible for a foreigner to really understand other cultures.
I know that they can be insightful sometime but if is possible for them to understand deeply nation psyche - if there is such a thing?:)
What is your opinion?

Yes and no. If immersed in Polish culture for some lenthy time, It would still be colored (excuse me, coloured) by my native culture as frame of reference. Understood in the mind, yes, in the heart or instinctively? probably not.
