What exactly means Wieczór panieński and what do they do? One of my friend said that Wieczór panieński means inviting some male strip teasers and making them have fun with the Bridegroom? Is it true in Poland that bride groom have such kind of night?

I have heard the Polish TV voice-overs translate bridal shower as wieczór panieński. Incidentally, what is the difference (if any) between a bridal shower and a bachelorette party? Forgive my ignorance, but I have never attended either.

wieczór panieński is a hen night, you're meant to go out and have fun with the girls before the big day. bridal shower is having a little get together and giving gifts for the future bride isn't it.
