History / Was Daniel Fahrenheit a Pole? [138]

the name Nietzsche is not Polish but i think the Poles should "claim" him haha.

It seems Poles must claim many brains.
;)
On many websites it says that Gdańsk was German, not even Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Hmm.

History / If Poland didn't exist, how did citizens become Polish? [57]

I think Poles didn't want to let go of their Polish nationality, Polish sentiment and roots, because their country was taken away from them. You need to believe in who you really are, otherwise you'll extinct.

History / Was Daniel Fahrenheit a Pole? [138]

A scientist best known for inventing thermometers. He was born in Danzig (Gdańsk) when it was a part of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. But most of his life he spent in Germany.

So was he a Pole or a German?

History / Trying to learn more about Warsaw University in 1968, specifically the Math Dept [3]

There were student demonstrations around the country.
Read here in Polish.

USA, Canada / What are the odds of my girlfriend getting a USA tourist visa? [70]

I broke up with her because of this. But in a way I can see why, she was lonely. We've been doing this for a year, it's just been too much now. As matter of fact, i cheated on her once too and never told her.

Now, that's a solid ground to build a happy relationship on. LOL

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

During the time I was in school, 1978-1985, very, very few pets. I always thought Poles were pet-haters.

Why do you think this change?

It was a tough period in the Polish history.
Now, Poles have as many pets as before, but the difference is that they don't eat them anymore.

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

Are you guys proud of Doda and Redhead Wiśniewski?

It's been created by Poles. Loved by Poles. Sold by Poles. Isn't it?

Tusk who has presided over the funeral of Poland's ship-building industry?

You're naive if you believe in all of their promises (no matter Left or Right). Reality check, P3.

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

I believe he has had a fleeting visit to Poland but it was a long long time ago.

He has no idea. Just visiting Poland doesn't give the big picture about living there. You just have a nice time, eat some food, meet with family, complain about some Polish things and go back home to your home overseas.

P3 and other have no idea about Poland and shouldn't be taken under consideration in discussions about that. Well, maybe they can talk about vacationing in Poland. Or share memories of old days. That's all.

Love / Do some Polish women prefer older men for money? [57]

Most Polish Woman want a older man for money

Men insist they do not understand woman's mind, yet they are so sure it's all about money.
Make up your mind, because it only proves man's little thinking capabilities.
