Any french conversation courses in Warsaw?

Hi everybody!
I'm curious if there are any courses or cultural meetings, or any other events, where people gather to speak french? As I understood, there is no French Cultural Center in Warsaw.

I will go to Warsaw in October 2008 for 1 year to study (Master's). Could you advise me please on prices to rent a studio, or a 2 bedroom apartment (in case I will share it with another student) preferably not very far away from Nowy Swiat 72.
