Life / Poles are not racist [873]

In Brazil where the vast majority of the people are either black or brown being white is a disadvantage,

Sorry Ingrid, but I`m also caucasian from Brazil (probably not as white as you) and can`t disagree more with you. Unfortunetely in Brazil white people are still privileged. You will find plenty of black people working as mades, builders, rubish collectors, etc, and in other hand it will be hard to find one who is not white working as doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc...

In Brazil we just like tanny skin... that`s all.

UK, Ireland / What do Polish people think about Wales and Welsh people? [191]

I love Wales!!! I lived in Llandudno for 6 mth and there I met my lovely polish hubby ;)))) The rain, the smell of coal in the air, sheeps, weird accent, old ladies sitting on benchs at the beach, castles, "croeso" signs... all lovely!!!

My favourite place: Conwy Castle.

Polonia / Are Polish people required to have tourist visa for Thailand? [32]

Thank you!!! When my travel plans be more concretized I will definitely come up with more questions and suggestions :)))
If I get the visa from the Thai Embassy in London, would I get the multiple entry one? I and my husband are planning to travel around Thailand by train, then stay few days in Cambodia and then come again back to Thailand. Is it too fantastic or possible?

SeanBM, you can tell me more about Cambodia. I`ve heard great things about this little country and every day I`m more and more looking forward to going there.

Language / I'm gonna learn Polish in a month! [86]

Hi Masks! I've been learning polish for a year now and I just wanna tell you not to expect to learn it in a month. Give yourself time and you won't get frustrated. It's a very hard language, but if you study it, you will learn it, there is no other way, it's simply matter of time.

I'm in London so I guess you are miles ahead being in Poland, but after a year I can make sentences, read childs book, speak a little bit, conjugate verbs (although I have big problem with the use of perfective and imperfective) and those 7 cases are no monsters for me anymore.

Good luck, I'm sure you will do well.

Work / Salary expectations in Poland [373]

For someone to receive 6719 PLN a month would be considered a good salary

It's a good salary, but nothing outstanding. A private dentist, for example, should earn much more than that.

Work / Brazilian moving to Poland - job ideas, Polish language, other tips? [30]

Wow, so good to see this post alive again :)

There are little differences all around in grammar. And bigger ones in pronunciation.

You are quite right Lebre. The grammar is very similar and the pronunciation is a bit different, but nothing outstanding really. We can understand each other perfectly. I would say the difference between British english and American english is a very good comparison.

Well, I wish you all a very enjoyable experience learning portuguese. It's a beautifull language:)
