Life / Poles - the Nation of Liars? [478]

MMM, Just reading this forum has given me second thoughts about living there, but maybe my experience will be a little different as I have a Polish wife, or maybe worse, who knows. Anyway I intend to give it a go shortly, I just need to sort out a business plan and premises for a pub, get a licence, fictures and fittings and go...

I'll keep you;s posted on how I get on, and in the meantime if anyone has any info as to Alcohol Licensing & Costs, please come back to me, or with anything that may well be of use to me..

Thanks
Marcus

Work / What Jobs are there in Poland for an Englishman besides teaching english? [70]

I've even tried asking in pubs and restaurants as I'm willing to work for crap money just to have something to do but nobody wants a foreigner working in their establishment, in fact many people get annoyed that you're trying to take jobs away from Poles.

Where do you live Buddy? I am opening a pub resturant in Opole area, if you live near.. you can have a job come October 2008. :-)

UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

Time for you all to leave.
We dont want you here and thats all there is to it.
Good bye

Winston, you are a Prick, I am a UK National and if it were not for the Polish people coming here to do the jobs that the Lazy asses in this country would not take then there would have been hundreds of companies would have either closed their doors Or moved to Poland, what good would that have done for the UK economy. What you are saying Winston is thanks for helping us improve the economy in the UK, Now bugger off back to Poland. You have a very tiny mind and I am glad that the majority of people here do not see it your way. There is a problem and that problem is people like you and the companies who expect the Polish people to work for the minimum wage with no increase in rate for overtime and who treat these people like ****. Reminds me when I came from Ireland to work in London years ago, I was treated like I was a lepper, **** money too and was called an Irish B**tard and Paddy by people who were Real authentic English with such names of Hanzeros and Marangoudakis.

On that point I won't respond to any more of this as I would be a hypocrite and only adding fuel to an already incendiary discussion, not cowardly but tired of the niggles and jibes at people. Negativity and misery loves company so you're on your own.

I Like it Kev....

As for the NI situation, because of you whinning I assumed you were from that part of Ireland most people in the South / West dont usually whine!

Whinners? People from Northern Ireland? I think you may be mistaken. The people here have been through a lot, homes distroyed, places of work bombed and bullets flying on the streets. Didn't hear many people whinning when this was going on, they just tried to carry on their normal lives.

Are you on your monthly cycle again Shelly? you seem to enjoy trying to **** people off from time to time. Anyway if it makes you happy you can call me what you wish as it dosen't bother me in the slightest.

Well in my opinion, I do not think she is worth pressing my keyboard for. As from today she does not exist, she has nothing to offer this forum only criticism and if you look through the history of her posts she is a Hate the World. I mean she isn't even fun. God knows what it must be like to live with her, probably needs a good kick up the ass or frontal lobotomy or maybe both.

Life / The Polish Wedding - What is it Like in Poland? [338]

I am curious however... these weddings go on for days, but do people go home and then come back and party some more or does it last continually for 2 days? Sounds like a lot of fun.

Hi ( Learning), Generally people go home for a few hours if they are not living too far away or stay with friends and relatives in the area, however I had people from Ireland, Scotland, England and Holland as well as people from all over Poland so we rented the hotel where the reception was held for four nights. It sounds expensive but If I had had a similar wedding in Ireland, well I would have been paying it off for a number of years. If you are ever invited to a Polish wedding, you must go, you are guaranteed a fantastic few days and a hell of a hangover afterwards. BTW everything is paid for by the Bride and Groom or the parents depending on each persons situation, therefore drinks, food and accommodation are FREE.. sound good?

Love / What do Polish guys think of Irish girls? [187]

Sokrates
Mate I haven't been on PF for a while and now I realise why.... people like you who have no clue.. where were you hanging out when you met all these tubs of Lard? Are there no Fat women in Poland? well I can tell you that there are plenty and a hell of a lot of ugly ones too. I will admit that there are a lot of slim and beautiful women in Poland however there are just as many in the UK and Ireland.

Travel / Visiting Poland - A bit worried about social attitudes and racist inclinations.. [80]

We had a girl from Siri Lanka at our last Polish bike club party , she had a great time , and nobody said a wrong word to her.

I can't imagine Indian, Srilankan African women having many problems in Poland, Polish men do not discriminate against women because you can shag them, it's the men that seem to get the problems.

Seems to be a huge difference in attitude when a White man is with a Coloured woman V's a Coloured Man with White Girl.

Happens here in Ireland too.

Food / The most typical ingredient used in Polish cuisine [28]

Nothing wrong with Polish food, Great selection of soups, salads etc although I tend to add my own ingredients into some of the more traditional meals, Golobki, Pierogi, to liven them up a little, as these can be a little bland for me however i'm into spicy garlicy food.

Kielbasa and Kaszanka are great for barbecuing, along with the great variety of Polish beers and hot summers, your on a winner every time.

Life / Using heating oil in your car in Poland, what are the risks? [11]

Yes, I know that there may be a problem with the life of the engine.. not really worried about that, just want to know what the Polish Law says about using non-duty-paid-fuel in your car, but thanks for the tip.

Life / Using heating oil in your car in Poland, what are the risks? [11]

Thanks Guys, I suppose I should have highlighted that I wanted to know what the Law will do if I use heating oil in a Commercial vehicle, Lorry for example and I am caught? Is there a set fine? has anyone you know ever got caught using it. Can you go to jail? for using it commercially?

Thanks

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

There are plenty of Polish and other races who have been living in England since before, during and after the War. Are they not now British citizens?, I wonder where the original posters lineage comes from?

Point is, if you work, live and contribute to a country, you eventually become part of the bones and fabric of it. Lets not forget the group of Brits that dont really do any of us proud by refusing to work at all, hanging around drinking lager at 11 o clock collecting their benefits for their 'bad backs' and 10 kids while moaning that the 'poles took our jobs' whilst they have no intention of working any time soon. These people are the bunions of society, lazy dolite, uneducated scum who are running around the UK today distroying the businesses, homes and livelyhoods of those who work hard for a living.

If that's the type of people who you want in the UK then God help us all.
Personally, give me a hard working immigrant any day for a neighbour, no matter what nationality they are. :-)

With my Catholic Celt, Roman, Saxon, Angol, French, Scandanavian genes and the genes of my Slavic Catholic wife we have given birth to two super Catholic Celt, Roman, Saxon, Angol, French, Scandanavian, Slavic boys.

Same here, apart from mine are Girls.

ENGLISHMAN, I think that you and your likes are the cause of many of the troubles that the UK has today. Have you ever looked to see where you came from? tell us your second name and we might be able to help you there.

Listening to you would make any normal human being feel nauseated, you are a racist to the core and in this world today there is no room for the likes of you.

Law / Bring your business to Poland! [56]

dnz
I think that Czech Republic is a better place for business, they have a more Western train of thought, English is spoken by most university educated people and they have a better trained work force especially in the engineering and IT Sectors.

One of the biggest problems with doing business in Poland is, you can never get a straight answer, the answer always depends on how much they think you can afford. For example I was looking to buy machinery lately therefore I emailed various companies in a few different countries as they had similar machinery. All but the Polish companies sent me immediately the prices of the machinery. The Polish companies sent me back a list of questions which I might add were altogether nothing to do with them. As of today, 5 days later, I am still waiting on prices for the machinery and of course at this point I shall no longer be purchasing. All Cloak and Dagger doing business in Poland.

Law / Clocking cars and importation to Poland [47]

Hi, I will need to buy a car when I get to Poland in December, however I have heard that many dealers and private sellers revert the odometers by up to 100,000km. I am now thinking of buying in Holland and importing a car instead. Does anyone know what the costs of registration/taxes or other charges are applied by the Polish government?

Law / Clocking cars and importation to Poland [47]

What a nonsense.Old cars in Poland cost less than transporting them here would cost not to mention fixing

I have been looking in Holland for cars as they do seem to be a lot cheaper than buying the same age and model of car in Poland or Germany. What are the costs of bringing a car into Poland, i mean registration costs and whatever other costs? Thanks
