Polonia / Behaviour of Polish migrant workers in the Netherlands [43]

What's also really bothering me is all the drinking

They can`t be native Poles. Most heavy drinkers are Poles who were born in other countries, e.g., the UK. Then they travel everywhere and damage our reputation.

he is, by the rules of the Church, not a Christian

Yes ,but you are talking about theory while I meant practice. There is a huge gap between those two in the Polish Church. :):):)

Just as you are against beating up Jews

You forgot to add your famous words:you is editorial, of course. hahaha

There is not a single Catholic out there,

You forgot to begin that sentence with: I believe. So I can tell you that you would be surprised how many there are.

who claim to be Catholics and in favor of abortion.

You can be a Catholic and against the abortion, but support pro choice movements. Do you comprehend such possibility?

is he back ?

Yes, I have a similar feeling of deja vu. Let`s see how it all develops.

What's a moderate Catholic? Something like a moderately pregnant woman?

No. A moderate Catholic means a non-fanatic one. E.g., the one who believes that priests who are guilty of pedophilia acts should be held responsible fot their dirty acts instead of being moved away to another parish, like it has been happening here for decades when immoral cases were swept under the carpet. .

Do you get it now?

which I think they will, especially after seeing the damage done to their ratings.

Of course they will, they are not stupid. Otherwise, they won`t get elected into the Parliament. Unless they ally themselves with PiS.

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

hahaha
Jan Kochanowski wrote that funny poem To the Maiden.
staropolska.pl/renesans/jan_kochanowski/fraszki/fraszki_52.html

To a maiden

Lovely maiden, do not run away from me,
Thy countenance blushed and my beard that gray be
Shall surely agree; for, when one a wreath makes,
Together with a rose one a lily takes.

Lovely maiden, do not run away from me,
My heart is not old, though my beard may gray be;
Even though my beard is gray, I am still strong,
Garlic is white where round, and is green where is long.

Do not run, I advice; you know what they tell:
An old cat can keep his tail upright and well;

An oak, though is dry, though a leaf off it may fall,
On a healthy root it will stand strong and tall.

knowledge and wisdom. More emotionally and spiritually balanced maybe?

Yes, but you are too general. It is knowledge and wisdom and balance in which sphere of human life exactly? Imagine: a hard tail, a hard tail. :):):)

Travel / Krakow is better than Prague [11]

was listed for the Warsaw office, yet in a bait-and-switch move it turned to be about Prague.

There is also Prague in Warsaw.

Life / What do Poles really think about cats? [470]

Every day the kitten displays amusing behaviour.

One more thing: Diego doesn`t meow, but only hisses. Not as a sign of defence or aggression, of course. He gladly accepts stroking and hisses. Or when he demands food. Funny as hell.

We love him very much. Wonderful pet.

and it's a slum compared to Warsaw, Prague or Bratislava.

Therefore, decent Poles refuse to have Budapest in Warsaw. No wonder PIS is opposed and objected to so much.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

So, I prepared my cabbage parcels in two versions: one with buckwheat and pickled leaves for me and the other with rice/barley kasha in fresh leaves for others. But later they all got mixed up both variants went down very well with all the eaters in my family.

It was the first time I ate that cabbage wrapping - I had always left it on the plate before.
I used 1.5 kg of meat and the last parcels were eaten today.
I managed to impress my wife. Neither the first nor the last time.

After they had taken undemocratic control of state media and spewed communist-style black propaganda against the opposition. Yes, they managed to brainwash more millions than before with it.

Don`t forget about it, Mr Manipulator. hahaha

he he - just like USSR in Hungary in 1956 or Czechoslovakia in 1968

Gumi, don`t compare the EU to the USSR. We know that rightards want Poland to leave the EU coz they think they will fare much better with the Kremlin than with Brussels. But it is an illusion. In the past a few Polish leaders also thought so and they supported the partitions - later they regretted it immensely. Why do you want to be like those traitors?

Polish justice reform is a power grab by the Polish government

Exactly. But they will always try to put a smoke screen around it, pointing to manipulated exampkes from other countries.

But don't worry, the EU will help protect Poland's democracy!

I say prayers for it every evening.

Never mind German judges. Only two countries have problems with the rule of law - Poland and Hungary. Is it a coincidence that both are ruled by autocratic populist regimes??

The EU has had enough and says: VETO to them.

Two regimes resorted with theiir own veto to the budget.

Do you really think the EU won`t find the way to deal with it? Of course, they will. And then Poland and Hungary will receive nothing.

Societies had voted their corrupt governments into power, now they will have to swallow a bitter pill when they don`t get European funding from the vetoed budget.

But then I remembered that the German judiciary system is highly political

Oh, playing the old tune of German judges again? I thought you had already read articles about it. Here you are - in Polish for better understanding.

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

So, our new member Novichok stated that 90% US teachers are Demo-oriented or leftist. And asked why it is so.

That`s an interesting issue and I thought about Polish teachers for a while. I think, from my own experience after spending over 30 years in education, about 80% of them are centrists, 10% are leftists and 10% are rightists. Why?

Check the main principles of teacher`s conduct from the Polish Teacher`s Charter - I wrote about them in message 85.

Teachers should educate and raise the youth in accordance with the love of the Motherland, the abidance with the Constitution, the atmosphere of freedom of conscience and respect for every person.

Teachers should develop in students moral and civil values in accordance with the ideas of democracy, peace and friendship between people of different nationalities, races and beliefs.

Isn`t it obvious that those values are mostly kept up by centrist and leftist people? Let me sum them up as decent people. While rightists don`t promote friendship between nationalities, races, beliefs. They do not respect other people. They do not abide to the Constitution. etc etc.

That is why most teachers both here and in the USA are not rightists.

I think that was a clear explanation.

So, the Hungarian government has already vetoed the EU budget. The Polish government vowed to do the same - they oppose the idea of funds depending on the abidance to the rule of law.

Those morons are shooting themselves in the feet coz the EU will manage without Poland or Hungary. Rightard politicians who take such harmful decisions today will be taken to court when their regimes fall. Not even the Tribunal of State for corrupt politicians, but common criminal courts.

euobserver.com/opinion/150103

This means we could finance the recovery fund by contributions and new own resources from 25 member countries, limited to the projects introduced by the governments of the 25 countries that apply the criteria, including a solid rule of law mechanism. Like the euro, it would be open for Hungary and Poland to join once they fully accept and fulfil the conditions.

Hey, forum rightards and fascists, your yapping about the European " injustice" will be useless, you know abiut it. The EU is determined to demand the rule of law and nothing is going to stop decent countries from sticking to it.

Will PiS risk another step towards Polexit?
