It's a parliamentary democracy, not a fascist plebiscite system, so yes, people elect politicians to vote with their conscience. Not the mob.

Well this was very true of the old PRL days, but In the new III Polish republic

More the opposite. Poles denounced each other back in the PRL, just as some (even many) denounced other Poles to the German occupiers - there's a very good book that compiles some of the thousands of wartime denunciation letters that survived.

To repeat, the MEPs who voted according to their party and constituents are not traitors. There's no reason at all why a politician from one party should support another party. That's what democracy's about.

The problem is that previous government and people who represent it got very arrogant and did not take defeat very well.

Others would say that the current party in office have got it badly wrong - that's the thing about democracy; you find that people have different opinions and political vision.

Hard to know what you're saying there, however the whole point of different political parties is to represent different opinions and interest. Nobody wants either a one party state or only one opinion to have a legislative voice.

No, it is not. There is no reason MEPs should vote as a national bloc - that's why different parties exist, and Poland of course has always had a diversity of political opinions and visions for the country.

They were bussed in by PiS deputies - each had a quota.

During the election, only 20% of Poles wanted Trump in the White House over Clinton. Afterwards, only 13% thought that he would be good for Poland.

That's quite telling.

And 86% of Poles oppose a relaxation of the gun laws.

A much smaller demographic. There are probably more kids abused by Christian clergy than there are Jewish people in total.

Nevertheless, most Christians, Muslims, Jews are perfectly normal, decent, law-abiding people.

You don't like him so you are looking for more but I think right wing extremists are not necessary paedophiles.

There's quite an overlap. Several figures from 'Britain First' and 'EDL' (the tiny organisations that Międlar has links with) are currently either doing time or waiting for court for that very thing.

There are many cases of catholic clergy abusing kids - all over the world, and with victims running into the thousands.

Probably tens or hundreds of thousands over the years - the scale of it is horrific.

Most of course are normal decent people, just as most Muslims are normal decent people. Yet haters gonna hate.

Plenty of Poles don't. Many have German-sounding names, just as plenty of Germans have Polish-sounding names.

In some way it shows very unpleasant side of British Society ....people so frightened of confrontation/racism accusation that they prefer to brush problem under carpet.

Perhaps, though everybody's talking about it and quite a few perpetrators have been prosecuted and gaoled, to great publicity, extensive media coverage and discussions in parliament, so it can't have gone that far under the carpet..

In case of priests molesting boys in Poland - it was covered up by church dignitary not Social Services or Police.

Actually it has also been ignored, covered up and avoided by police in Poland too.

I wonder if there's any more dirt on Międlar, after all, he's fascist scum, and that goes hand in hand with personal depravity.
