News / Presidential elections 2020 - your opinions about campaign, candidates [2222]

Trzaskowski is hitting PiS with well timed attacks while Duda flounders

He knows what to do and how to do it.

Those are the two 'paydays' for Polish workers.

A lot of small business owners and contract workers are very disenchanted now and ready for change. Plus private landlords who've seen their income vanish.

News / Presidential elections 2020 - your opinions about campaign, candidates [2222]

I'm absolutely convinced right now that the election will be decided by around 1% of the electorate.

That's usually how it goes in other countries, the UK and US among them.

This election here is already different from the ones that have gone before.

I'm not entirely convinced by the argument that 30-40% of Bosak voters will go to Duda.

I don't think they will.

There are strange things happening to the economy right now; if the effects are truly felt before the election, it will make a difference.

Real Estate / Economical room by the month in Lublin? [24]

Depends on the flat (for example how the heating's billed). Usually several hundred for water/gas/electric, internet and heating, especially in winter.

Real Estate / Economical room by the month in Lublin? [24]

The ads on Gumtree say 1500 to 2000 for a two room flat, 1000 to 1500 for a 1 room flat. You may find some for less or for more depending on the condition of the flat, the size of the room(s) and the area.

Remember that all advertised flat prices in Poland are 'for negotiation' and the actual price to pay is 100 or 200 lower.

Real Estate / Termination of fixed term renting contracts-residential in Poland [26]

also renting an apartment in my city,

Same here. These are exceptional times, and we'll all survive if we work together.

Sometimes landlords have to take a small loss. If someone loses a few months rent, they still gain on capital appreciation.

Classifieds / Need a Polish wedding caterer for january 2021 [3]

These people in Balham cater Polish weddings. I don't know if they're any good or not, however they seem fairly long-established and are well-known. They also have a Facebook page with reviews for the food etc.

I talk about LGBT ideology.

No such thing.

All the Warsaw sewers

The infrastructure works well here, perhaps not as well as in your country, however it's still fine. Any long term problems however are ones that have developed for years, including during the disastrous PiS mayorality a few years ago.

The guy's popular here, and I expect he will get a decent share of the votes. Enough to unseat Duda? Time will tell, however it would be good for Poland to have Traszkowski in office. He's enough of a strategist to be playing the long game.

LGBT ideologues

No such thing.

obsessed with sexuality and perversity.

You're the one who keeps mentioning sex. I don't recall the election candidate raising sex as a topic.

Mayor Trzaskowski has done very well in Warsaw. What exactly do you mean by ideological catastrophe?

Off-Topic / DALMATIA - How much Poles love Dalmatia ? [123]

in truth about something completely different... ?

Indeed they are. The protests are about electoral fraud, corruption and ownership of religious buildings.

Nothing about joining up with Serbia; they are Independent now.

Classifieds / Polish wedding with Polish and Yoruba speaking party or wedding (may be also English) host [9]

polish wedding hosts

There isn't really the same tradition of wedding hosts that exists in West Africa. You could contact one of the Polish community associations to see if they know anybody. Or the British Polish Chamber of Commerce to see if they know of a cabaret compère or wedding organiser (or just to see if they have any suggestions).

both the Senate and Presidency in opposition hands

This is key; a new direction for Poland. PiS will handle this badly.

would a challenger to JK arise in such a scenario?

He's not getting any younger or healthier; doubtless challengers are discreetly lining up.

empty promises.

All politicians 'spew platitudes', the PiSuarzy preeminently amongst them. He doesn't though. I wonder why you think his promises are 'empty', especially since his track record as Mayor of Warsaw has been excellent.

LGBT ideology

Doesn't actually exist.

A more accurate point is that he isn't obsessed with sexuality. Unlike PiS.

Life / Solar energy in Poland [22]

Still, if you can use

Except they don't, of course.

Funny though to watch some lame-brained person try to pretend that sustainable energy isn't hugely on the rise..

Language / Trying to interpret a letter from Poland [3]

ul. Śmiała 1 = No. 1 Śmiała Street. m3 = mieszkania (apartment) 3. So the address in English is Apartment 3, No. 1 Śmiała Street.

Ul. Śmiała is in the southern part of Żoliborz in Warsaw, almost in the city centre, you can find it on Google Maps. I know it well; it's a pleasant part of town. Quite an expensive area nowadays,

Don't worry about the 32, that signifies the local post office, a few streets away on ul. Filarecka. Now Warsaw addresses no longer list the local post office, There's a system like postal/zip codes instead.

News / Poles say a big YES to our European Union [996]

Talking to you is like talking

For you yes, especially since you have a. nothing sensible to say, and b. are trying to take the thread off topic.

And it still doesn't affect the verified fact that most people here support EU membership.

critical thinking

I don't see much in your post; just a reactionary approach to sustainable energy.
