Finding a place to stay in Krakow for a month! Couch surfing.

Ok, so I am planning to go to Krakow in September. I want to stay for about a month I think. Unfortunately my plans are not as solid or as well thought out as they should be at this point. I am struggling to find a place to stay. I looked at all my options, and so far this is my plan: I am going to attempt to find someone who lives in Krakow who would let me be their roommate for a month. I would not expect anything fancy, just a place to sleep. I wouldn't expect them to feed me or anything either.

I need advice. How difficult do you think finding something like this would be? I have been asking around amongst my friends in the Krakow area to no avail. How much money do you think I should offer them? I was thinking about 1000 złoty for the month at the least, what do you think?

Also, the area doesn't absolutely have to be Krakow I guess, it's just a preference.

Any guidance and advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Look at TRAVEL ADVISOR on the web. THey have everything including hostels, apts., etc. I don't know why you would want to live with a stranger for a month, but that is none of my business. You will have no trouble finding something. Try the Jagiellonian University student papers also.

Krakow in September.

5 months! Ah sure, you've loads of time.

Take a look at this for more info about Krakow: Travel Krakow.

Students come back to Krakow around September so try and organise something before they turn up.
It is tricky getting a place like that for just a month, maybe try: krakow.gumtree.pl. Good luck.

Zombie,

I've just taken up a lease for a 2 bedroom place 5 minutes away from the old town. Give me a shout nearer the time if you want a room for a month. I've got family and friends coming for weekends over the summer but it will be free for September.

All mod cons plus internet, LCD TV etc.

I also search for a room in Krakow for one month in the summer.

I searched before and it was very hard to find even if I offered 2000 PLN, because everybody wants to rent out for 6 months.

It was crazy

I checked out the recommendations for Krakow, pretty nice. I am going to try Gumtree, I'll be sure to act as quick as I can so I'm not competing with the returning students as much. Thanks for the advice.

Zombie...

Thanks, I'll keep the offer in mind! I'll contact you closer to the time if I am all set.

Thanks for all the help guys, wish me luck in my search. xD

If anybody else needs a place to stay in Cracow I recommend you Atrakcyjny Kazimierz hostel. It's located in the jewish district really close to the city centre. They have nice rooms, breakfast included in the price and on Fridays they organise free vodka tasting.

I have stayed at the PandaHostel in Krakow and really liked it. The location is good, in the Jewish district, lots of funky, artsy cafes/bars surrounding it.

The breakfast was especially good and the staff was very helpful.

Hi,

Try couchsurfing.org A friend of mine uses it all the time and never found a problem.

Hope this helps.

Merged: I'd like to spend 2-3months in Kraków and live with a family, how to find prywatna kwatera and Polish classes?

I'm a single lady, in my late 50s, and I'm hoping, when my health is improved, to spend an extended holiday in Krakow. Maybe 2 or even 3 months, starting in April.

I don't know what to do about accommodation. Ideally I'd like to live with a family and I was wondering how I could find "prywatny kwatera" for such a long period of time. Are there agencies/websites?

Whilst there I'd like to improve my very elementary Polish by taking classes. Do such things exist? Any websites about these classes?

Thanks

Helena

Book through this portal. Do it at least 1 month in advance and from a person with good comments: airbnb.com/s/Krak%C3%B3w--Poland?locale=en

Just google "polish classes in Kraków":

Merged: Homestay in Krakow

Hello,

I wanna know if it's possible to find a renting room with a Polish family in order to live there while I'll doing my Erasmus. And If it's possible, which is the best way to find one? :)

Thank you very much,

Pau

Did your Erasmus last one night or why did you think that couch surfing would be a good suggestion?
