What are job opportunities in Poland for a pharmacist from India?

Hi,

I have got a job offer in Warsaw and now looking to explore the job options for my wife: She is M.Pharm (India) and having work experience 0f 3 years in Quality control department of pharmaceutical company in India. She is open to get Job with Industry as well as Pharmacy stores ( as pharmacist). What are the options and opportunity available in Warsaw? What avg salary she can earn in her profession?

You have a very big mountain to climb. First, the pharmacy area is tightly situated. Second, if your wife does not speak Polish, it will be very hard for her to find any job - as the employer has to prove that no other Polish person can do the job and has to obtain a visa for her. Third, Polish people are not yet used to working with people from other non-EU countries.

I checked online and unless your wife would need to apply to the District Pharmaceutical Chamber for Warsaw to have her qualifications assessed and be granted a licence to practise pharmacy. However she would also have to demonstrate sufficient command of both written and spoken Polish confirmed by an examination before the Central Pharmaceutical Chamber.


I think in Warsaw where the OP is going, it's becoming increasingly common.

Chances are absolutely zero of your wife finding work of any kind. There is no shortage of pharmacists in Poland. In fact, many Polish pharmacists go abroad to work because they can't find jobs at home. Likewise with pharmaceutical companies, any needs they have are more than adequately filled by native Poles and Ukrainians. There is no need to hire anyone from outside of the EU. The same for all other fields. Your wife has zero qualifications that are worth anything on the Polish job market, and does not speak the language (and it would take her YEARS just to learn the basics). No one would hire her for anything.

Make your plans on the very safe assumption that your wife will never be able to earn even a single penny in Poland. If your plans depend on her finding work, forget about it. It's not going to happen.

There is no point in her getting her qualifications recognized in Poland. That would be a total waste of time and money because no one would ever hire her.

Sorry, but there isn't even the slightest hint of hope here. When I said zero chance, I mean exactly zero. Not one in a million or one in a billion. Zero point zero zero...........

I am pharmacist(bachelor science degree of pharmacy). Now, I will start master course in Poland soon. Almost, I Will stay in Poland up to finishing my two year master course. So,can I get pharmaceuticals industry work in Poland?

I am afraid Polish law doesn`t permit bachelor graduates to work as pharmacists because there is no such faculty at Polish universities. . Either full master course,. 5 years, or in the old system a few years ago, , high-school academy course, 2.5 years plus 2 years training. .

Like I have said before,Poland has tons of opportunities with mostly no competition unlike western countries where people from all over the world are competing,finally even the poles are finding out and coming back.

But some so called made in China teachers or house cleaners,foreigners from Uk & ireland are stuck there doing menial work.LOL they are not very brilliant except to post on PF.

As far as I know, pharmacy is one of the fields where professional qualifications tend to fit into frameworks specially intended for recognition elsewhere.

A pharmacist is a university education and as such it must be nostrified.
