I just noticed that, I feel like I'm under attack with fists flying at me in all directions

This made me laugh. I think the fist is kind of funny.

wtf is this "Polart Polish Gifts" cr*p on the left-hand side? It's intruding upon the text.

Maybe a 'like' button to click on for the best posts? With a tally of how many clicked?

Thats a great idea, the other forum even has that, it would give us dedicated posters and thread starters some kind of motivation......or not as the case may be. I'm sure there are many people that frequent this forum and follow certain posters that we have no idea they actually exist.

Would be good for our (dedicated member) feedback.

It's intruding upon the text.

Not on mine. Tested: Chrome, OSX and Safari, OSX. Did not install Firefox though.

I agree that it doesn't intrude on Chrome, but I'm using Firefox, and it does. Even on Chrome though, it's irritating, because you can't help but to keep looking at it.

What's the point of it anyway? Why can't it go at the top of the page like other adverts have done in the past? It's not even a clickable link.

Merged: Quote/Edit/Reply buttons location? Changes, changes, changes....

This title is a quote from a famous Polish comedy. Never mind which one.

I came back after a week and I have just found out that quote, edit and reply buttons are now located at the bottom of each post, instead of top right corner.

Is it my computer or another forum "improvement" ??

Is it my computer

what you see is how it is

If so, it is useless. In case of longer posts, I have to scroll down to reach the quote button. What a waste of time.

Any reasons for that "improvement" ??

Any reasons for that "improvement"

the forum has always seen an on-going series of changes.

The changes are usually good. It would be useful though if the quote function worked with iPads.

Some people might argue about it.... :) There are a few threads in the forum full of posts by furious members. You forgot avatar brawl??? :):):)

the forum has always seen an on-going series of changes.

Yes, some are OK, others senseless.

But you didn`t answer my question, in fact. :):) I asked for a logical reason to move those buttons. Are there any?

Are there any

i don't know admins intent. some forums move things around in order to nudge posters into looking around their site a bit more.

moving the quote function etc, on this site, is a little confusing. however, i'm sure we'll all get used to it.

i don't see it as a major distraction.

It would be useful though if the quote function worked with iPads.

that is one for admin to answer

I don't really have a problem with the new location. It takes a fraction of a second to scroll down through a long post.

But their new location causes visual problems - the buttons make an impression they are a part of the post.

A change I noticed yesterday, and a question about it.

It looks like the option to make a donation has gone - is this permanent?

Yes, few people were interested in supporting PF this way, so it was not worth supporting this feature. Thank you for your support.
