DominicB - | 2,707 11 Oct 2017 #331@GazeillamaeIt's totally worthless. Even if you could exchange it (you no longer can), it would have been worth only a nickle.
burl99687 27 Jan 2018 #332I have a 1922 Polska Krajowa Kasa Pozyczkowa 10000. Can anyone tell me what it is worth?
Dirk diggler 10 | 4,585 27 Jan 2018 #333old notes from PRL are worthless for the most part. One's from the 20's can be worth $10-$20 if they're in good condition - more if its closer to Poland's formation. There's a few high note (100k zl plus) denominations that are collectible but not worth a whole lot ($20 for silver coin some featuring WW2 Warsaw Uprising or Pope John Paul II). The only old currency that's worth a significant amount $100, $500, $1k plus are old commonwealth ducats, old rare notes from banks (Bank of Danzig or currency from independent Warsaw, etc).
Njinyah - | 1 20 Feb 2018 #334Merged: Narodowy Bank Polskihello.i have 10000 Narodowy Bank Polski.can some one tell me how much it will cost in USD and possibly how to get it change.my email address is theodorenjinyah@gmail if you have any information. thanks
kaprys 3 | 2,249 20 Feb 2018 #335If that's the pinkish thing with Stanisław Wyspiański, then it's not worth much - literally one new złoty (so about 25 euro cents) or whatever someone is ready to pay for it.
terri 1 | 1,663 21 Feb 2018 #336Go on a Polish forum, similar to e-bay, (can't just think of the name now) and try and see what people are selling similar notes/coins at.
VMSAXENA1965 23 May 2018 #339I have following old paper tysiac zlotych notes in following denomination issued by Narodwy Bank Polski as per details below5000 * 12000 * 21000 * 6If anyone interested to get it exchanged them in INR or USD CONTACT ME
terri 1 | 1,663 31 May 2018 #342100 zloty from 1994 is no longer in use. Throw it away. I believe that in 1995 10,000 zloty became 1 pln. You do the maths.
kaprys 3 | 2,249 31 May 2018 #343@terriThey had to print the new banknotes before the redenomination. Enlarge the image above and check the date - it's 1994.He can throw it away but will lose about 20 euros.
terri 1 | 1,663 1 Jun 2018 #344Yes, but I was going off the description. Zloty is the term for Polish money prior to the re-denomination, after that the term is PLN. If someone says they have zloty, I understand it to mean 'old money' and not new money which is termed 'pln'.
terri 1 | 1,663 1 Jun 2018 #346No, they don't. But if you are writing about money, you should make it clear which denomination you are talking about.
gumishu 13 | 6,140 2 Jun 2018 #347No, they don'tit says on Polish notes that the currency is called złoty - PLN is an expat newspeak
jon357 74 | 22,054 2 Jun 2018 #348PLN is an expat newspeakIt's actually the ISO 4217 Currency Code used in banking, assigned by the International Organization for Standardisation and ratified as such by the National Bank of Poland. But never mind about facts.
gumishu 13 | 6,140 3 Jun 2018 #349the fact is nobody in Poland appart from narrow financial circles calls our currency PLN instead of złoty in everyday speach - there are even millions of people in Poland that are happily unaware of it being code named PLN
terri 1 | 1,663 3 Jun 2018 #350You may call the currency 'zloty' but when writing you should always refer to it as 'pln' to distinguish it from the previous currency used in Poland before 1995.
gumishu 13 | 6,140 3 Jun 2018 #351tell that to all Polish journalists who contribute to Polish newspapers and web portals
Chemikiem 3 Jun 2018 #352you should always refer to it as 'pln' to distinguish it from the previous currency used in Poland before 1995.But wasn't the previous currency known as PLZ? I thought PLN stood for new złoty.
kaprys 3 | 2,249 3 Jun 2018 #353Polish people just say złoty and that's what you'll hear in shops/conversations etc.
Prof Gene 26 Nov 2018 #354Hello! Thanks for all the info here. Does anyone want a 20,000 Plosih zloty old communist note? What is your offer for it?
SellingAll 20 Nov 2019 #355I have a 50000 Zloty from 1993 if anyone is interested in buying me please let me know ASAP you can email me at jojolokey1977@gmail.com thank you
jon357 74 | 22,054 20 Nov 2019 #356The cost of posting it (at the cheapest postal rate) would exceed the value of the banknote. They are very common and sell online for less than a dollar.
mafketis 37 | 10,882 20 Nov 2019 #357Polish people just say złotythough usually złote or złotych (not much to be for one złoty anymore...)
rgeorge 26 Feb 2020 #358I have a sketch/painting with a value of 26,900 Zlotys from May of 1988. I know money notes lose their value however items with a value of the said amount do not necessarily lose their entire value.
Atch 22 | 4,124 27 Feb 2020 #359The value of a painting depends on the market for that particular artist at any given time. If an artist or their style becomes less fashionable, which sometimes happens, the painting becomes less valuable and conversely, if the artist becomes fashionable the value increases. You should have your painting revalued. Btw 26,900 is a weird valuation - it sounds more like the retail price somebody paid for it in a shop. Price can be much higher than actual value.
Charles in Florida 19 Apr 2020 #360I have what appears to be a Polish banknote. The words are Polish. The denomination is "50 Tynfow" which is derived from a Polish historical treasurer from the mid 17th century. The lady is identified as "Okasana" and looks to be the same in the watermark. I have looked all over the internet and can't find anything other than translating the words on the note. Is there a way I can attach a photo of the note?
