What is the history of the area that surrounds Ponizie - Podlaskie Voivodeship?

I've recently learned that my family defends from that area. What is the history of the area? Could I actually be Lithuanian or Belarusian or Tatar instead? Because apparently, it's one of the most cosmopolitan areas historically in Poland. Dzięki

As far I know this area was Polish from XVI to XVIII century (until 1795). XIX - XX (up to 1945) hard times for Poland, borders multiply moved, lands changed owners.


Of course, but also none of Pole has 100% Polish blood - looking from the history, migrations - the same applies not only for you ;)
What is your surname by the way? It may be typical for certain countries.
