Fact remains the Jews were the weaker minority who relied on the selfless kindness of the stronger majority.
Why? How?
The majorities were being exterminated just as spectacularly.
You had your Jewish brethren in New York, in London, in Zurich, in Buenos Aires, in Beirut and elsewhere that could clamor for aid, for further attention, etc.
Not poor people. Not people without influence.
Whose kindness could Russians or Poles or Azeris or Tatars or Moldovans rely on?

Good job to you lot for building museums, and exhibits, and writing books about your dead - but it doesn't mean their tragedy was unique.
You talk about the uniqueness of Jewish "helplessness" - what then about the Gypsies you yourself mentioned? They don't have their own state, and their "helplessness" was such - that still most people pretend the genocide against them never occurred. Zero museums - zero fancy exhibits.
A Polish peasant who hid a survivor friend of ours, was asked why she was risking her life to be a decent person. She answered, "I am a poor woman, but no people are as poor as you!"
-you got your pilot license when you were 16. -you swim the Baltic to do your research of neolithic settlements in Marmรถ in the Summer. -teach catechism to children in their native Erdu via the satellite you invented when you were 14. -spend your late November at the peak of Mt Fuli with Your Samurai Sensei wearing only bear skins and wolf boots (that you not only made by hand but procured by your hunting skills). -camp with Sasquatch in the Northern Oregon forests passing time by reciting and critiquing Sasquatch epic poetry in the native Sasquatch language. -spend your weekends teaching Torq Jr how to cast parts, forge, fashion, and assemble a '57 Chevy from metal soup cans and larch trees.
I could go on, but I think I've made my point.
Me; if I fart and don't soil myself-that's a very successful day.
If I was an American one day - I would want to be an AntV-type American.
You already are...just younger and smarter.
Something about Kentucky, that just makes decent people
I don't live in KY...how many times must I tell you! ๐
Although I can see it from my office. Cool state. Buddy of mine from KY has a t-shirt with pic of the state of KY that says "Kentucky a state with 2 million people and 7 last names." ๐
@Torq
I hope that's true but the amount of work that needs to be done...๐ณ๐ณ๐คฏ๐
Anyhow, you got a deal, if the circumstances allow.
Well, Hitler was cool with all those rallies and marches; they were like masters of the propaganda. Hasn't been suppressed as yet. ---
blaming everyone else for their problems, and convinced of their own uniqueness?
Hey, doesn't it ring a bell? Americans. --
n anyone here has the right to go out of his way hating the murderer (and their folks) of his people it's Lyzko!
I must tell you, BB, being a former communist has left its mark on you. You easily buy into this propaganda, like recognizing the uniqueness of Jewish experiences. Come on, wake up! ---
I wouldn't say 'pervert'. I prefer 'connoisseur of life's finer absurdities'. ๐
WTF? You mean bottles of vodka?
No, they really read a lot. Go figure.
One of my friends studied Russian Philology and during her studies went for a year-long exchange to Russia. She was impressed by how well-read Russians generally are (and surprised by university librarians who tried to sell her library books spod lady ha ha).
