81st Anniversary of the Liberation of the Auschwitz Concentration and Extermination Camp

Hitler left nothing behind except a shameful legacy of death and destruction.

Hitler left an instruction manual on how to become a dictator. All current and former dictators followed his example... and he left the highways.

Many Germans once thanked Hitler for building the Autobahn. Hardly comparable to the pyramids.

would anybody today truly dare to admire them and their achievements?

You underestimate how easy it is to manipulate people.... they just have to say these are the people they're saving and/or blame the suffering on their enemies (see russia shelling donbas and blaming Ukraine).

Hardly comparable to the pyramids.

Na ja....I guess more people were happy about the Autobahnen than about the tombs for their slavers....but truly difficult to compare!

You underestimate how easy it is to manipulate people....

Seeing photos and/or movies about abused and tortured and killed slaves are hard to ignore....I wonder if these would also support and nurture a resistance movement or some anti-Pharao-Alliance....as I said, difficult to compare!

But whenever one is being admired for his "achievements" and the other is judged for his crimes, these thoughts spring to mind....without the modern media, I also guess nobody would really care about Russia and Ukraine....and Trump would just take Greenland....its another age, for good and bad!

True enough, Maf. Especially true if the society in question had a weak underpinning in the Judeo-Christian ethic!

Seeing photos and/or movies about abused and tortured and killed slaves are hard to ignore...

Not so hard... to make the photos/movies hard to find or easy to ignore....

Many westerners have done a very good job of ignoring modern slavery in Africa or massive human exploitation bordering on slavery in the Gulf Arab countries....

Many Europeans are very good at ignoring what is bieng done to Ukraine....

The Congo region is still a nightmare of slaughter and rape and mutilation...

Pictures are there for those want to know, and easy to ignore for those who don't.

However, the uniqueness of Auschwitz was the STATE SPONSORED, systematic, indeed methodical, cruelty meted out against one specific ethnic group, with others such as the Roma and generic homosexuals as well as the terminally ill thrown into the bargain.

Various societies throughout history exacted cruel and unusual punishment on their fellow citizens or their neighbors, Spain during the Auto da fe, for example, the Vikings too, Genghis Khan etc.

The Shoah was unique in that even if the Jews tried to curry favor with Hitler, e.g. the Judenraete, their fate had already been sealed at the Wannsee Conference in 1944 and from then on, there was no turning back, no matter how much todying on the part of the intended victims.

Auschwitz was both ideological and biological!

the uniqueness of Auschwitz was the STATE SPONSORED..

Sadly it was far from unique in that respect. It wasn't even the worst of the worst: some people sent to Auschwitz survived due to its dual purpose as a slave and death camp. Compare it with Belzec: estimated 430,000 to 600,000 people went in there and there were only two known survivors.

The plan of Eichmann at Wannsee was to eliminate aka exterminate 11,000,000 Jews, the entire Jewish population of Europe.
The US gov't. for sure planned to exterminate the Native Americans from certain Western territories, however unlike the Nueremberg Laws, in the US, public discrimination of both blacks and "Indians" wasn't on the books nationwide
That's not to say that the US policies weren't pretty horrible in their own way.

You say "against one specific ethnic group", but then mention the Roma. Well, it's good you didn't forget the poor Gypsies.

You also didn't forget homosexuals, and even remembered the terminally ill.

But for some strange reason, there is no mention of the thousands of Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Czechs, Yugoslavs and other people that were murdered there.

The Shoah was unique in that even if the Jews tried to curry favor with Hitler, e.g. the Judenraete, their fate had already been sealed

Sure... very unique!

Slavs could have always sat down and did a "deal" with Uncle Hitler.

Hitler never spoke about his genocidal plans for Slavs, and never laid his hand to a document called Generalplan Ost. There was certainly no plan to eliminate 50-60 million Slavs through starvation, disease, and expulsion beyond the Urals.

Sorry, very irritating... all this talk about uniqueness.

As if the deaths of millions of others in the camps has no meaning.

Let's all remember this day:

Let's not forget that anyone who was 18 years old at the time would be 99 years old today, a rare feat.
---
The Red Army started raping survivors of Auschwitz.

Not for nothing, they were called a red scourge, and they were honoring their cultural ancestor Mongols.
---
I saw a guy who looked very much like my dad.

Maybe it was your dad, you know, you are into ghosts or something, he was giving you a warning.
---
Suffered ~27 million dead

I'm not entirely sure about the number. I think he used that opportunity for some creative accounting and ended up putting many people he killed onto the Germans.
---
No, they are just more advanced.

You are both idiots, and you are so stupid you don't even know it.
---
the Judeo-Christian ethic!

There is no Judeo-Christian ethic; there is only Christian ethics, with Judea included as a courtesy to the predecessors.
--
the uniqueness of Auschwitz

The unique part was that modern techniques and knowledge were used. As for the genocide, it wasn't the first time in history, and it wasn't that unique either.
--
The plan of Eichmann at Wannsee

Who cares? It was 100 years ago; the third generation is getting old. You still like to milk it for what it's worth. It's not worth much at this point.

Not for nothing, they were called a red scourge, and they were honoring their cultural ancestor Mongols.

Some fun historical facts!

The first time the term "Flagellum Dei" was used, was when Atilla was ravaging Europe.

Christian writers at the time, viewed Atilla as punishment sent against sinful Christians.

Then this term was applied in the same way against Lombards, Magyars, and Pechenegs.

The Mongols are of course the "Michael Jordans" of scourges. As you know, I like to read about them...

It wasn't just the Pope and various Christian princes calling them the "Scourge of God", it was how they viewed themselves.

The Lord Tengri, gave Temujin the mandate to rule all four corners of the universe, and to purge the Earth of all possible heresies.

This seems to me an attractive model for imitation :)

The Lord Tengri, gave Temujin the mandate to rule all four corners of the universe,

I dismiss his pathetic mandate and his barbaric claims. He should be like all of you barbarians-stick to your tents and tundras, build yurts, ice places, and enjoy your rituals of sucking each other's dicks. That is a fitting place for outsiders looking with envy and gleaning with jealousy at our superior civilization.
You might enjoy a spear in your collective rectum and join Tengri and his Jin and other barbarians of their calibre in the seventh circle of hell - if you don't like it.

Ironside & Co.
Sadism knows no particular nationality.
Why then single out Germany? The reasons, merely to paraphrase.Raul Hilberg, are that in Nazi Germany there were nearly no malingerers and precious few deserters in the cause of exterminating "undesirables", chief among them, the Jews of Europe.

It all belongs to historical past. There is no need to dig it out all the time for some larger or smaller gains.

If his mandate is false - then why did so many good and innocent Christian souls perish from his armies?

Was God not watching? How could he allow his faithful servants to be abused in this way?

stick to your tents and tundras, build yurts, ice places, and enjoy your rituals of sucking each other's dicks.

The ones who like s*cking dicks, are your Greek and Roman friends.

Yurt is a superior home - cool in the summer, and warm in winter.

Being in touch with nature is a good thing - not a bad thing.

gleaning with jealousy at our superior civilization

Superior civilization that even after one million crusades could not take back its own Holy Places?

Again - where is God, and why does he not help his children?

Superior civilization that had to be saved by Arabs and Persians from the depths of total unwashed ignorance?

You hold the answer in your previous post - "Flagellum Dei" - scourge that God used to correct the ways of his wayward people.
=If not for sins, ignorance, and greed, you barbarians would not stand a fighting chance against our invincible knights of Christ. Nope! You can struggle and strive, but it may all be in vain. You will rot in hell in the end, and your Earthly empire, if anything remains, will turn into smoldering ruins where wild animals howl.

Being in touch with nature is a good thing - not a bad thing.

Absolutely, run with bears Bobko :)
---
Superior civilization that had to be saved by Arabs and Persians from the depths of total unwashed ignorance?

It is simply anti-Christian propaganda, not the truth. Unhinged and inbred Muslim heathens can't even invent a toilet, let alone anything else. Hey, don't they have this thing in common with their Russian barbarian kin? How fitting lol!
---
Superior civilization that even after one million crusades could not take back its own Holy Places?

Well, never say never. If the church unites as it should, then anything is possible.

No Iron, it is historic fact.

The shining metropolises of the medieval ages were Cordoba, Baghdad, Cairo, Damascus, etc.

In these places science and art were advanced, while Europeans entertained themselves through various sadisms against their peasants.

Well, never say never.

The meek shall inherit the Earth, and the last will be the first, and all that... yes of course.

In 30-40 years - me and you will sit together, but not to the right side of the throne, but somewhere far in the back by the wall, and next to the exits.

The Holocaust uniqueness assertion has indeed been challenged by a number of serious historians, most of them German, such as Nolte, principally, Hillgruber.

But it was another German scholar, one Thomas Fehler, who posited the notion of a "Sonderweg" or "special path" by which Germany allegedly went its own way following unification in 1871 and hence diverged from Western Europe's Enlightenment heritage as suggested by H.Plessner in 1935 in his thesis."Nationhood Deferred: On the political gullibility of the bourgoise intellect".

Nothing to do with Arabs and Islam. It's more complex, not fit for this thread.

Well, there is no denying the truth of it. Aside from anecdotal saying, you have no rebuttal.

No, thank you. I thought that I ran with wolves, but they turned out to be, for the most part, hyenas. I pass.

What thread then? Tell me and I will create it. Last time CMS Neuf told me to f*ck off with Greenland discussions and make a new thread - and now it's a success.

Maybe we can call it: "Foundations of Western Civilization".

Aside from anecdotal saying, you have no rebuttal.

Aside from platitudes designed for 16 year old girls, you have no argument.

I thought that I ran with wolves, but they turned out to be, for the most part, hyenas.

Sounds like a "you" problem, as they say in America.

I offer to run with bears, not hyenas or cats.

There is no need to waste emotion on Lyzko.

Typical.

So many speeches of politicians and academics, so many articles, movies, podcasts etc. in which Jews are mentioned first and foremost (even though Poles were murdered in Auschwitz before first transports of Jews arrived there, and the first victims of Zyklon B gassings in the camp were Soviet POWs), then homosexuals, then Roma and then terminally ill. That's why I'm not surprised when Lyzko, the resident discombobulator, does the same thing.

chief among them, the Jews of Europe

Chief sramong them.

30 million Slavs died in WW2, you complete and utter tw*t; and how many Jews?

Hey, don't they have this thing in common with their Russian barbarian kin? How fitting lol!

Is this staged like my slagging match with AntV?
Bobko  30 | 3102

then homosexuals, then Roma and then terminally ill.

A sort of peculiar sequencing...

I think it means that Slavs in the eyes of Hollywood are "less than" homosexuals, Gypsies, and people that are deathly ill.

You know - compost, hummus for the earth.

Slavs don't even suffer in the same way as "ancient" Jews, or English ladies. Slavs die like cattle, with mute expressions, and dumb cow-like eyes.

Slavs expect nothing good in life, so "utilization" in a gas chamber is nothing to write home about.

-//-

In the end, homosexuals, vagrants, and people struggling with terminal disease are the bread and butter of the film industry....

But life is not Hollywood!!!

Is this staged like my slagging match with AntV?

You gentlemen opened the door to honest discussion!

Or, in one word, Untermenschen.

Slavs don't even suffer in the same way as "ancient" Jews, or English ladies. Slavs die like cattle, with mute expressions, and dumb cow-like eyes.

I can see you are familiar with philosophical theories of Barbara Engelking who famously said: "For Poles, death was a biological matter, something natural - death as death. For Jews, it was a tragedy, a dramatic experience, a matter of metaphysics."

Translation, please.

F*ck off.

You lost me. Why do you talk about 16-year-old girls? I don't understand. Platitudes often offer a kernel of the truth; if that is hard for you to swallow, it must be 'you' problem.

Maybe we can call it: "Foundations of Western Civilization".

Early Western civilization versus Middle Eastern barbarians.
--
30 million Slavs died in WW2,

Who cares about it? Not Jews, that's certain.

Is this staged like my slagging match with AntV?

Kind of, I'm playing it by ear, but I think Bobko is the right person to have this 'match' without hard feelings.

Nope, this is Jewish. Then they wonder why 109 countries kicked them out, and people don't like them. Is it a big mystery, isn't?
