I am looking for any information about a soldier in the polish free army who was billeted to a camp in Helensburgh, Scotland at Camis Eskan

He would have been approx 19. He escaped through Switzerland from the occupation and had to leave his father behind. He met my mother Mae Shields and they went to camp dances together with her friend Margaret Penny and her mother Sally Shields.

Sally did not approve of the relationship and after Stasyek was demobbed mae and he promised to write. There were no letters. Years later mum found out sally had burned them all, including the ones she gave for posting. The last mum remembered was that he was going to university in London.

It haunted her til her death.
Anything on Stasyek ( not sure re spelling) would be appreciated or anyone else who had a relative in Helensburgh at that time

You might have a chance with the Universities who might have records from that time of students. Other than that, it seems that the friends were jealous of the friendship so no real friends to your Mum. Try the Unis first.
