I would like to communicate with anyone who is related to my ancestral families. My ancestral families lived in Upper Silesia for many generations. My father was the first of his family to move from Europe to the United States of America. I am the first member of my father's family to have been born in the United States of America. My ancestral family names include: LEPIARCZYK, KANIA, SZYMURA, JAGIE£KA, GROBORZ, HENNICH, SZU£A, and NOWAK.

It will be a distinct pleasure to communicate with relatives who live in Upper Silesia or around the world today. My Lepiarczyk ancestral family members live and have lived in the proximities of Rybnik, Zabrze, Gross Rauden (presently Rudy Wiełkie), Stanitz (presently Stanice), and Podbiała. My Kania ancestral family members lived in the proximities of Rybnik and Kleszczów. My Szymura ancestral family members lived in the proximities of Rybnik and Gottartowitz (presently Gotartowice). My Jagiełka ancestral family members lived in the proximity of Pless (presently Pszczyna). May God bless especially all members of my ancestral families always.

My grandfather Roman Szymura emigrated to US around 1924 y. They were hard times in Poland then. He used to live in Rybnik, probably Rybnik-Piaski or Paruszowiec or close vincinity.We were never able to get to know him since he never came back to Poland. Hello. My surname is Szymura. My Grandma Stefania Szymura lives in Rybnik Paruszowiec but her family lived in Piaski. Ok. In order:
Stefania Szymura was daughter of Franciszek Szymura and Paulina Kuśka (or Kuschka). Franciszek comes from Rowień and Paulina from Szczejkowic (Bełk).
I know that on Pauszowiec live a couple of Szymura family.

Who are the father and mother of Roman Szymura? Szymura is apparently a popular name in Upper Silesia. I have yet to communicate with cousins of my branch of the Szymura family. My great-grandmother, Anastasia Szymura Lepiarczyk (1870-1941), was born at Gottartowitz, near Rybnik; and she died in Rybnik. Her grave is in the Rybnik Cemetery. My father was very fond of his grandmother. Anastasia has many brothers and sisters. My second-great-grandfather and my second-great-grandmother are Johann Thomas Schymura (1820-1898) and Antonia Maria Hoehnich Schymura (1832-1888). Johann and Antonia were lifelong residents of Gottartowitz, near Rybnik. I surmise their graves are at Gotartowice, near Rybnik. If you should find a connection with my branch of the Szymura family, I shall be most pleased to learn of a connection from you. Your branch of the Szymura family lived in the same proximity of my branch of the Szymura family. That is an indication that we may be members of the same Szymura family in time. My father was born in the Ligota community near Rybnik. My great-grandmother, Anastasia Szymura Lepiarczyk (1870-1941), has an uncle, Franz Schymura, who was born ca. 1822. Perhaps your great-grandfather, Franciszek Szymura was named in honor of him. Franz Schymura is the brother of my second-great-grandfather, Johann Thomas Schymura (1820-1898). When my father and I visited in Rybnik in 2011-2012, we met a storeowner in Rybnik whose mother is a Szymura by birth. His first name is Ryszard. His mother told him, from her memory, that his Szymura family and my Szymura family were not related. His mother lives in Gotartowice. I am pleased to have recently received a copy of the original death record of my second-great-grandmother who died in 1895 at Klischczow, near Sohrau, Germany. How may erroneous information be amended on death records? My ancestral mother's name, Thekla, was erroneously recorded as Theila.

Now that I have learned my ancestor's place of birth, I am hopeful to discover her baptismal record from another archive in Katowice.
