Hi there I am trying to trace any living relatives in Poland (or known whereabouts of emigrated relatives) with the surname Widelewski. My father was born in Suchatowka (or Gniewkowo nearby) in 1914 which is between Inowroclaw and Torun. I believe his ancestors originally came from Vilinius, or Wilko Lithuania and emigrated to the US around 1900-1920.

Hello
I am not sure if this is still current, but we are also looking for Videlevsky family members.
Our family is originally from Vilkiye, Lithuania.
Thanks
Andrea

@widelewski Hi Andrea I have just found your message from 2014!
As far as I am aware, Videlefsky is the same name as Widelewski. The traces of this family I have found are all from Vilkija, Lithuania, although I know my family are from the Torun area of Poland.

I visited Vilkija last month and found it very hard to find any trace of this name apart from on Jewish Gen. I would love to know if the Videlefsky's (Jewish) are definitely linked to my Widelewski family (Roman Catholic) and how.

I am in Poland next month and am visiting the State Archives to try and find out more information. Can you try and find me on My Heritage or Ancestry.com?

Best wishes
Heidi
