Hello!

I am attempting to find records on an Antonina Skotnicki. I have not been able to find anything on her in Poland!

This is what we have on her:

I'd try to look up these related names too, eg. "Nina Skotnicka" (in Polish, a female surname usually ends with '-a,' as opposed to a male that ends with '-i').
I think "Nina" could be a short version of the rare Polish first name "Antonina."

Except that if she lived under Austrian or Prussian partition she might be listed under the male form of the name (remember Teresa Orlowski? sure you do, Ron).

I think "Nina" could be a short version of the rare Polish first name "Antonina."

This sentence is generally accurate except that Antonina is not at all a rare name in Poland, and 'Nina' is a full name in its own right, not a shortened version of 'Antonina' (the diminutive of which would be 'Tosia').

Except that we don't know all the context and family history.

"Antonina (Антонина) has often been affectionately shortened to 'Tonya' or 'Nina.'
