Searching for Cousin in Warsaw Poland name:Małgorata Kralczynska

Hi

I'm searching for my cousin in Poland, her name is Małgorata Kralczynska.
However I last had contact with her over 20 years ago, so she is most probably married by and thus using her married name.

I know that she use to live in the ul. Angorska street in Warsaw...
If anyone has any advice on what methods I can use to try and locate her, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

John :-)

John;

A quick 'Google' search shows that you may have been looking a while on another board(s).

In case this has not been suggested, Brigham Young University has an extensive database.

Birth-Marriage-Death Records. It may be worth a go. Good Luck. I admire your persistence.

- Rich :)

My comment was about the efforts of Bzibzioh and pgtx helping in John's search.

As for me, the records that I had managed to locate were birth, marriage, death
and travel documents from 1910s-1930s Poland - some of which I found at BYU.

So, to answer your questions: I did find most of this information via the internet;
still, seeing the results here, I may have been better off just asking people at PF!

Oh well, too late. I'm already a Polish Citizen just awaiting a PESEL and passport.

no, but i've been known to play one on the internet :)

i think part of john's problem may simply be misspelling
and he may actually have this thing all sorted by now.

Thanks, Bzibzioh. I am elated! I had always wanted to repatriate to Poland, but never knew it was possible until just recently.

The hardest part was locating all of the necessary documents - and, of course, "the waiting" after everything was submitted.

I actually went to Poland to visit relatives and to try to obtain some documents (almost 3 months) and I absolutely loved it!

I retained the services of a Warsaw attorney who was excellent throughout the process - which, all told, was about 1 year.

Unlike some who covet the 'EU Passport', I now await my Polish passport so that I may live, work, and play ... in Poland! :)

Wow, that's long! And expensive I assume. I hope you will be happy there. Are you retiring?

I'm going to Poland next week for a 3 week visit and I'm going to pick up my new dowód osobisty with PESEL. That's my mini-excitement :)

Actually, from the experiences of others I've read on the internet, 1 year is not too bad. Some claim it to be 3+ years!

Having an attorney acting on one's behalf can be a bit expensive, but it really is the only alternative to the Consulate.

I (unfortunately) will not be retiring, but I'm looking into some potential business prospects; nothing definitive as of yet.

I'm going to Poland next week for a 3 week visit and I'm going to pick up my new dowód osobisty with PESEL.

Wow, good for you! I would've loved to go that route with my PESEL but, unfortunately, I can only do this from USA.

If my experience is any gauge, you are sure to have an absolutely wonderful time there, however short it will seem.

BTW, I was impressed by your quick response to John. Maybe I should have had you do my research and paperwork :)

Hi Bzibzioh

Thanks for your reply,
and for stating that I may have had the incorrect spelling of my cousins name.

My command of the Polish language is not good, but I did think that Margret in polish is
spelt with a z, (Małgorzata). Yet in the last letter that we received from my cousin over 20 years ago, she had her name as 'Małgorata'.

That is why I initially put that name, but I did do searches for Małgorzata also.

Thanks

John

Thanks pqtx for your reply

I must admit I initially dismissed the info in the link as it related to a company.....
and a person with a different Firstname.
But I have since learned that Margaret may be involved in the company, so I have found a phone number for it and will try it soon.

So thankyou pqtx and Bzibzioh and everyone here for all your help....

Take Care

John
