You need to give more information about your grandmother. Her name is not enough to find your family here.
By the way, in Polish her name is Maria Sadowska.

There is about 37 thousand people in Poland who have Sadowska/-i surname. I'm affraid that it is impossible to find your family.

SADOWSKI: root-word sad (orchard). The -owski ending points to toponymic origin, i,e, localities such as Sadów or Sadowo (Orchardville).

you might not have papers/documents, but the state does. Ship's records, naturalization papers, social security records, marriage records etc.

there are plenty of websites to go to for advice. ancestry.com genealogy.com as well as sites that specialize in Polish records.

in your case you need a town/city of origin. if your grandmother emigrated before 1918 the usa entry records will show either: russia, prussia, austria, galicia. knowing this should make it easier to find place/area of birth.

it's not the name that makes it impossible, it's the fact that you give very little in the way of usable dates.
