HelenaWojtczak 28 | 177 7 Jun 2012 #1HelloI am in the UK and currently writing a book about a Polish serial killer Seweryn Kłosowski, who died in London in 1903.I would like to find out everything, anything at all, that I possibly can, about Kłosowski's family in Koło and Krasienin and his wife's family also. Her name was Baderska and she was from Mikstat. There seems to be a lot online for Jewish Poles, but unfortunately mine were both Roman Catholics. Pity!I have exhausted every possible avenue of research that I can carry out online, at ancestry.co.uk and by googling every possible permutation that I can think of, to no avail. In a whole year, I have found nothing. Are there any resources that I cannot access because I am in the UK? Are there any Polish ancestry websites that I don't know about? Are there such things as Polish c19th street directories or anything else online (such as we have in England).Any tips, advice, gratefully received.Helena

fishingforbass - | 1 14 Oct 2013 #4Hello,Try the Polish American Museum in Port Washington, NY or Polish Library in Washington, DC both might be able to help you.I have ancestors from Mikstat and they were jewish. I plan to return something next Spring. Maybe I can do some looking around for you,I 'll probably never check this site again, because you were the only listing for Mikstat. My email is pbrill@optonline.netGood luck,Philip BrillI just remembered that in Mikstat there is a general store, and the owner has written an extensive History of the town,He is the local historian. He would very likely have the information that you are looking for. I suggest you contact the municipality and get his phone number.Again, Good Luck,Phil Brill
