dxx 12 | 108 30 Sep 2008 #424I would say Zywiec or LECH, I dont like Tyskie at all...Dog in the fog is not bad either if you're into dark beers...Na zdrowje!

So I am curious, if you have one, what is your favorite Polish beer? Mine is Piast lager, followed by Zyweic.H
osiol 55 | 3,921 11 Oct 2008 #427Poland is just another vodka nationPoland ranks 10th in beer consumptionIt's wine that just looks wrong in the hands of the average Pole I've met.I like £omża Mocne, amongst others.
I14Green - | 2 14 Dec 2008 #431Thread attached on merging:Polish Beers - Good, Bad, The UglyMost Polish beer is awesome and does not give me a hangover ever. Some I like more than others, but here is what I know. Polish beer is as good as any other or better is somes estimations. Many Polish beers are brewed by U.S. companies, or their subsidiaries in Poland. The brewing process is modern and the same in both European and U.S. facilities.Since the 90's many small Polish breweries have been bought out by major companies.SAB-Miller now brews Warka and since 1999 brews LechHenieken now brews Zywiec and TyskieThe only real Polish brews that I know of are mostly micro brews by U.S. standards and are hard to find, but are worth it -Some small Polish brewers still doing it the old way are :TatraPerla - still wholly owned and one of the finest quality tastiest Polish brews around in my opinion. Please add upur opinions and beers to this thread

Seanus 15 | 19,672 15 Dec 2008 #436Got a couple of girly beers today. Freeq, lolDrunk out of the public gaze
delphiandomine 88 | 18,131 15 Dec 2008 #437Freeq is bloody dreadful, don't go near it...the lime one was particularly upsetting as it was so crap :(That Gingers beer is absolutely lethal though, to anyone from the UK, it just tastes like ginger beer from a can. It'd be far, far, far too easy to drink yourself to death on that stuff :/
Seanus 15 | 19,672 24 Dec 2008 #440I've made my choice elsewhere but I tried Frater the other day, quite good it was too.It is from the Kompania brewery in Poznań.
paquito 27 Mar 2009 #441Super Bock is a portuguese beer! not bad, but most polish beers are better, zubr is my favorite.
paul111 1 Apr 2009 #442I have tasted most of the Polish beers now they are widely available in the UK.IMO many of them taste similar, they are usually very drinkable quite thin and perhaps a bit sweet/syrupy?A friend of mine (German) says that the Polish brew there beers with glucose syrup to save on the cost of malted barley, and also to add extra alcohol.Perhaps that is why I have found them to be a bit thin and syrupy? They are still decent lagers though especially if you are looking for a bit extra alcohol in your beer.Much better than the majority of lager brewed in the UK.
Guest 7 Apr 2009 #444great great beer. very boring bottle and cap but what a great beer inside the dull packaging. if it is fresh not too many better
MrBubbles 10 | 613 7 Apr 2009 #445A friend of mine (German) says that the Polish brew there beers with glucose syrup to save on the cost of malted barley, and also to add extra alcohol.Maybe so - a lot of the Polish breweries have been taken over by the big multinationals and they look to cut costs. It might even be that their own beers are just pumped out in Poland but under a Polish brand - Zywiec is basically Heineken these days...
berni23 7 | 379 7 Apr 2009 #446No matter who is behind that, it should be forbidden and handled like the Reinheitsgebot in Germany, wherein only water, barley and hops is allowed in beer.
Cardno85 31 | 973 7 Apr 2009 #447I am standing by bottles of Okocim O.K. Beer...truly wonderful stuff.
RubasznyRumcajs 5 | 498 12 Apr 2009 #448forgive me, if that link occured earlier, but look on itadbuzzer.wordpress.com/2009/02/25/zubr-top-polish-beer-brand-and-its-unique-advertisingand, btw, Zubr is my favorite beer (followed by Kujawiak) :)
SzwedwPolsce 11 | 1,594 12 Apr 2009 #449Zywiec is basically Heineken these daysZywiec tastes better than Heineken. In my opinion it's the best. There are many good ones. One of the few I've tasted that I don't like is Tyskie (even though many people likes it).
