Aren't the obwarzanki for which Kraków is famous really a bagel? If not, how do they differ in taste, size, texture, etc.?

Bagels are much less dense and not as sweet, which is why you can cut them through and make a sandwich. You can't do that with obwarzanki, you can only eat them as a snack, never as a breakfast meal.

here is something I found very interesting about these bagels.-----Famous Obwarzanki from Kraków, which were also known as "bajgle" before the war, are a traditional Hebrew snack which is served on a Jewish holiday called Shavuot. Traditional bagel is sprinkled with poppy-seeds. Today, sellers offer a whole variety of them; apart from poppy-seed there are also sesame seed, rock salt and even pizza sprinkles.
