mutilating of my forum name

I merely wanted to drive home how painful it is for someone to have his name forcibly respelt --- somethign the Poles of Lithuania have to endure. And those are their real family surnames, not just some silly nickname.

BTW does Duckboy qualify as such a mutilation?

You know fine well what the rules of the forum are.

And those are their real family surnames, not just some silly nickname.

The Lithuanian Poles have two ways of spelling their name. No big deal - I know some Ukranians with truly horrific Latin names too.

As for Jaroslaw Kaczynski, yes, I imagine calling him a nickname counts just fine.

Back to Orwellian morality -- Gronkowiec is a no-no, but Duckboy is fine. what do you base that evaluation on otehr than sunbjective bias? A PC sense of fairness? Do the mods agree?

What are you on about?

Duckboy, Jabberwocky, Father Maybach et al - it's all banned. That's why you got banned last time.

They will if it's used again.

The rule is really quite simple Polonius, I'm not so sure why you seem to have problems with it.

Why weren't they suspended the last time they used it? Is some preferential bias at work?

Could you provide an example of it being used since Lenka posted the thread about the new rule?

P3, you got suspended for the name - changing game. There is even a thread about that. Next suspension will be longer.

Merged: Banning people from Polish Forums

Quick question, I see a lot of constructive conversation here. But if you disagree with a few people you are banned... Why? I see a person called delphomine just rip people to shreds but she is never banned? Is this a restricted board for a few or is it a public forum?

This is a joke forum, filled with trolls, run by moderators that try their best to adhere to the agenda-of-the-day.

Maybe you could register for a starter before starting talking nonsense? And yes the fascists are not anymore here, that is a good thing.

"Quick question..........?"

Even quicker answer: DEFINITELY NOT!!
Look, it sets a really bad precedent if folks start "banning" other folks from saying stuff, just 'cuz they don't like it!

I'll admit, some of us get pretty darn trolley out there, still, one man's meat is (nonetheless) another man's........, whatever!!

Merged: Harry suspended, the only ones left will be the students

Haven't been on the forum since some days, having gotten a bike accident here in Bielany, basically 300 mtrs from home...resulting in broken right arm....Long live Medicover by the way. I noticed Harry is suspended. I wonder why?

Will the only posters remaining be 1. The "students" looking to "study" in Poland, at the same moment asking if they can work here at the same time (and such actively ecouraged by this forum to do this) 2. The ones who are going to earn 7000 a month in Katowice and ask how far it gets them - haven't they learned what the "search" function is? After all (and now I will be booted out just as Jeremy Clarkson big time) all the call centres in the world are centred in their country.

3. And the serbs who can write anything lunatic as it goes, the freakier the better.

Waiting for my suspension.

@ Sobieski:

It is not surprising that you cannot see the link between the activities of Hary on the forum and the fact that the only ones left on the forum will be students.

Believe me or not, but it is Harry and the former little British Gang of Three who were discouraging other members of the Forum for some time. I have been warning of this for quite a lot of time, but no one of the forum staff have been listening.

Just look at a mod's comment in the thread: "Language Teachers - do you feel respected in Poland?" made under post 60 and directed towards a certain jon357.

Mod's comment: Keep to the topic and less of the personal insults, This thread was cleaned yesterday because of you, and your mate.

Notice that the mate whom the mod mentions is no other than Harry. The two, Harry and Jon357, the remaining members of the little British Gang of Three are still active on the PF in their most disgusting way. These days only students seem to be immune to their nasty activity, so they seem to be the only ones who stay on the PF, with the rest fleeing slowly, but inevitably, away.

Notice also that this activity of the remaining gang members are most often tolarated by the forum administration since, as you can see, they just tell them "lessof the personal insults" rather than "nopersonal insults".

You should understand my remarks fully as you have often been ready to support Harryand jon 357 in their attacks on other, particularly Polish (but not only) people, although you yourself have never been as nastily aggresive as them.

Reading your post, the words pot, kettle and black come to mind.

Anyway, most of the thread cleaning is for other reasons than people responding to offensive posts from 'students' and when push comes to shove, isn't part of the mods' role to clean threads now and again which is one of the reason the forum is moderated?

I would have to surmise that whoever it was just finally had enough.
Rather than play the blame game here one would think we should all go read the rules to refresh our memories to what the administrator and his/her moderators require from us when in Their House as in RESPECTING them, other posters, and the P.F. rules.

As "invited guests" here to the P.F. we should all act accordingly (as guests) and not act like we are in charge here.

A little swat on the butt occasionally helps remind children who the boss is and what the rules are.
Hopefully Harry will be back soon.
P.S. Take note that I used we and our as the mods. got my attention too.

That makes a lot of sense.

It's easy to forget how many posts they have to wade through some days.

Kiss-up ... :)

May I remind you that without visitors and regular posters, this forum would not exist. I would instead suggest that some of the responsible ones here grow a pair and stop interfering in threads every time there is a little topic drift or banter. It has become really annoying lately.

I would say that moderating is better these days, it was much worse few years ago. If you let those little banters it will not take long for the posts to look like this "***** *** you **** and ***** ****!"

I agree, but that doesn't mean there is no room for improvement. I find it particularly annoying that almost any regular conversation in a thread that drifts a little off topic is sent to the bin these days. We are humans after all, and not machines.

If you let those little banters it will not take long for the posts to look like this "***** *** you **** and ***** ****!"

Well, I was talking about banters, not personal insults. The latter should be handled accordingly, but were much worse in the past, too. Do you remember that one particular poster who loved to tell people to go and die of cancer when they disagreed with him?

Rings the bell but I can't remember the name.

It's probably his usual week lasting one but I'm only guessing.

Suspension of Harry is a sign that PF is degenerating into a tasteless site that holds back people who bring so much to discussion and instead look over the non-stop lies by something like gregy and szalawa or a bunch of serbian psychos who can post over and over again that serbs did and build everything there is on this Earth. No reason to post with such politics of the moderators.
