Is this some kind of social experiment?

then i admit. anonymous quotations makes me aggressive. Its like when THEY capture you and put you in the Hague with accusation: ``you are Serbian. You don`t bow to EU/NATO di** and so, you are guilty.``

Anonymous quotations are bad idea

+1

I thought I was doing something wrong.

Surely the old way makes much more sense?

It's very confusing especially if multi-quoting two or more posters, or picking up on and quoting something from a few pages before.

Can it be changed back?

Please?

: )

OK I've looked back on the thread and have read the supposed logic behind it but I don't agree. Ah well.

people, i don`t know for you but, i am quite upset with the development on this forum.

This with name removal in quotations is just wrong. i survived NATO bombing but, this is just too much. Its equal to the psychological attack

Now when you hover over a quoted text, the author's username should appear as an 'alt/title' text. This applies to messages posted from now on.

It was explained right at the very beginning - see the last word of the thread title.

Merged: Quoting a poster while using an iPad or an iPhone

Ridiculous iPads can't quote and cant remember how to edit the quote thing

To quote a poster highlight the text in the compose panel make it a quote then
Add =postername after the word quote within the first square bracket there are no spaces.
That's it

I can't see any other way of doing it on an iPad if someone can please tell all here.

I normally put it in after using android.

I assumed that a website would benefit from being easy to use on the phone but it'd cost a lot to convert

I just copy and then paste into quote marks.

Not really, that's not why PF exists.

Is it not the same?

No, apparently not.

I just put the poster's name in the text.

It's almost impossible for me to do it except for the first line of my post as the phone's options are on top of the website's options.

And the predictive text and it guessing the next word gets in the way a lot.

"Not really, that's not why PF exists."

Why does PF exist if not to be used? I mean the distinction between a phone and a computer are heh blurred, aren't they?

No, apparently not.

That's interesting I would have thought the syntax would have been the same.

That may be a clue as to why it's a bit tricky on mobile devices PF would need at least two apps.

It is very helpful for the other business interests of the Admin.

I don't know what they are but I would have assumed also that the more users, the better?
The adverts are still there too.

Do I just assume too much? =-O

Do I just assume too much?

No, but you can make the quoted posters name appear on the home page when you do that android quote thing. With a laptop or ipad I cant make it appear

cost a lot to convert

cost nothing to convert if they bothered updating the site from old skool web 1.0 ;)

The adverts are still there too

Install Ad Block, it's free and you'll never see an Internet ad again.

Merged: Quote Button, I can't find it.

Where did the quote button go? I can only see the reply one now. I think that's one of the best features of forums over social media is the quoting function. Hopefully I just can't find it!

Where did the quote button go?

You can use the ' reply ' button in exactly the same way as the quote button. Just highlight text you want to quote and click reply.

Merged: Quoting people - no name of the cited person?

I can't remember for sure, but in the past, when you quoted somebody, did it not show the name of the person you were quoting? Now, even though there name is there when you quote them, like so [ quote = theirname ] text [ /quote ] , when you publish it, there is no name to the quote. It might have been that way, but I know on a lot of sites it shows the name and can't remember if it used to be like that on Polishforums as well.
