Happy New Year to PolishForums Members from the Moderating Team

Admin 31 | 1,530 Administrator
1 Jan 2008 #1
Below are the messages posted or sent directly to Polish Forums moderators or admin in the last 48 hrs when the website was "abandoned." This is about how the forum would look like if total "freedom of speech" or the sudden lack of moderators and admin's interest were to prevail.

It's nice to come to the site and enjoy reading on-topic, annoying ads-free, moderated messages or articles written by paid freelancers, isn't it. Then complain (or threaten to "leave") if something appears to be wrong, just for a day or two. Or simply complain if something results from a hard moderating job.

The website is and will remain free for all members, but if you feel it's worth setting and keeping high standards it may be worth reading this page. Maybe sometimes a little more understanding for the moderating team would be nice too.

We apologize to those who felt offended because of the unmoderated posts; they have been taken care of already. We thank to those who have supported us and our views in the past.

Polish Forums Admin and Moderators

So, until this site becomes a bit less hostile and hateful, I'll be keeping away and only looking in occasionally.

Shame really, as it could be a great site.

===

Admin......feel free to remove this thread and indeed remove posting rights from the troll

===

uuuhhhhh Moderators are you going to let her get away with saying that

===

Moderators, are you going to allow him to continue with sick comments like this?

===

I've pretty much stopped coming onto this site because of this person.

Nuff said.

===

ADMIN........are you sleeping.....come on....do the necessary!!

===

yes, why the hell hasn't this been removed?!

===

people really need to use search facility ... !!! Guests or Members before anyone says anything!!!!

===

Reason of alerting: Racist, disrespectful, chauvinistic, bigoted.

===

Reason of alerting: his posts are offensive

===

Reason of alerting: might be contacting police if this sociopath isn't banned soon. This is disgusting hatred.

===

Reason of alerting: are you going to allow people to make remarks like this

===

Reason of alerting: he is driving away decent posters

===

Reason of alerting: I think I'm leaving the site. What a shame you allow such posts and abuse.

===

Reason of alerting: come on admin how on earth can you allow this disrespectful indecency, please remove this, please its sick!!!!

===

Enough already. Stop this!!

===

Admin scrap this rubbish doesn't belong at all.

===

Admin=noimmigration...or he's a schizophrenic, plz prove me wrong by deleting his posts and all his threads, and finally noimmigration himself!!

We are waiting!

===

I can't imagine any Polish related businesses wanting to buy advertising space on forums that carry this sort of content.....and as for voluntary donations ???????

===

Hope someone gets the message .....

this person has done 12 posts ALL the same ...

===

I wonder what the Polish newspapers would write about this forum, if they read page two of this thread.

===

Admin - Waken up !

===

"I'm hoping it's just because they aren't around at the moment, but I've sent a report anyway." -- I'm hoping you're right, because I've just logged on and what I have read here has made my blood boil

===

Reason of alerting: wrong thread

===

This thread should be trashed.

===

Because, frankly, I don't see anything funny on that page. I do see some very offensive posts [or opinions] though.

There is a limit to what some of us will put up with.

===

Yes, it is called spamming a forum.

===

HELLO ADMIN [SPAM!] It must be the same person thats posting all the other new ones

===

What's the problem ? Leave this guy alone.

===

[anon email] Get to work! Sleeping? I'm about to report this site to the press.

===

===

Repeat posting that clogs up the Forum will be frowned upon by the members

===

Okay, I had one of those quotes....

Yes, it is called spamming a forum.

Some dikhed had no less than 8 threads all about the same crap. Really annoying to see that go on when you are trying to keep an eye on some thought provoking discussions about the typical polish guy in the UK wearing cammo pants and bomber jackets.....

Someone had to clean that crap up. The place had disintegrated into near anarchy.

Wow a point made hugely in bad taste. The timing at least. What if a family member of a/rape victim or family member of a murder victim had been on to see the 'joke' one member made? For the sake of a point...

I hoped you wouldn't be revealing this was planned.

WOW admin, you have your hands full !!!

I hope I wasnt the cause of one of those ;)

happy new year admin and mods and lets hope for a better 2008 :)

yeah - i saw the spammer... just some silly little girl by the looks of it, easily ignored

as for the pilock babbling on about bommer jackets and cammo pants, hes not a great deal more than a silly little girl himself... if people stopped pandering to him and started to tell him exactly how much of a silly kuntt he is then he might bugger off a little quicker

get over it and please if you love suppression of expression i'm sure brother putin has a place for you in moscow.

get over it

No - why the hell should I? I'm offended by somebody's disgusting remark. Suppression - some **** like that would potentially be punched if he said it on the streets, there should be some form of punishment on here too, and if that's suspension, I'm all for it. I never said he couldn't say it - I just agree with consequences to his words. Trying to suppress my expression of outrage plk123?

Sofi, no need to be so dramatic...one can and should expect to come across any kind of garbage on the Net, even when simply browsing.

It's not being dramatic - I'm looking at a possible outcome.

The point is that nobody was moderating the forum - or, in other words, moderators had 2 days off. Nobody was checking the messages for their content. Two days off a year don't seem too much by any working standards, I hope.

Admin

do you ever feel like a surrogate mother to some forum members...?
OP Admin 31 | 1,530 Administrator

I'm not sure how a surrogate mother may feel, but there are moments it's possible to feel like anyone in this life.

Happy New Year to Moderators of this forum, you do a great job, appreciated. People don't realize how much time and patience it takes to do what you do, essentially for free.

BTW - I found this interview in Polish with your site -- is it authorized by you?

The point is that nobody was moderating the forum - or, in other words, moderators had 2 days off.

You could have appointed one or two temp mods.

As you have done similar before, it didn't take long to figure it out.

I was mystified as to how a poster and his [girl] friend were both on-line at the same time and no-one noticed. He got all the advice, she got none.

Your work is appreciated. Happy New Year to the Admin team.

You could have appointed one or two temp mods.

it was intended to be unmoderated for the 2 days. we all agreed to take two days off.
Happy New Year MAN! hope things are well!

Everything is going fine. The river is frozen over on quiet stretches and we've had some snow. It's starting to look picturesque in places.

I wish you all the best for 2008.
