You can yourself the bullying of 'Toro' and "formermember'
Isn't it time that guest accounts were banned too?

It's clear that guest come here to abuse and spam, why not just make people register? It only takes a second.

Also, no answer was given on reinstalling the ignore button. Seems to me that quite a few would like to have it back and it quite clearly made this place more enjoyable.

Ironside and Ifor, in other words.

Ifor in particular should take a running jump if he's too cowardly to use his existing usernames.

I've just spoken to Ifor, and he says that he wasn't behind the postings of "former member". I thoroughly apologise to Ifor in this case for having accused him of doing it.

Still waiting for a reason why the ignore button disappeared.

The reason for this is that Admin and mods want you either to ignore the forum as a whole or a accept it as awhole. It is a "take it or leave it" attitude.

The turning point for the PF was when a group of people left the PF after Torq set up a new one called AllThingsPolish". And although the ATP is still not very active, the fact that those people left was a rather significant loss for the PF.

Ever since the PF has evolved from the "fairly intelectual" into the "common and rude" direction. New members who try to be somewhat intelectual and polite are instantly ridiculed at one point or another by the remaining two members of the former "little British gang of three" (the third member of the group was infamously expelled from the PF for telling the real identities of the forum members).

So if you don't like things as they are, you should ask for the "Ignore the whole forum" button. And once you've entered, you will be happy to click this button and leave the forum (for ever).

Rule Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: Britons never will be slaves!

Still waiting for a reason why the ignore button disappeared.

Apparently because some members complained that they could still see a preview of someone they had chosen to ignore on the first page or in the quoted message (or in search results). It's not possible to ignore a poster from all parts of the forum, so the feature was removed. There are no plans to reintroduce it.

Thanks for the answer, Pam. I'm not tech-savvy so I can't suggest anything, but I appreciate the fact that you replied to my question.

Admin: "Hm, I was ignoring you so I didn't read your message, sorry."
You should be on the stage. The next one leaves in five minutes.

Merged: Ignore button.

Any chance you could enable an ignore button that would hide posts of those on ignore lists from sight?

Now logged users can hide posts of usernames they specify. To mute forum posts of others (including guest posters), you may go to your profile (action=prefs) and enter username/s, separated by a comma, of those who you want to mute. Eg. john_troll,notfunny,goaway654. Space in a username is represented by a dot. The information about muted accounts is saved locally in your web browser.

Muted posters will not appear in forum messages at all (and quoted messages that refer to them will appear without an attribution).

Great. Some people now can hide their own posts from themselves, if system allows even that (it does). It would be ultimate escape out from reality.

Very good Crow. I had no idea that you have a well developed sense of humour.

I have. How could I survive without it. We live in Europe that`s not equal to all. Some lives are highly valued, some are cheep. Some nations have right to develop, some peoples are hold down. We Serbians are among non desirable factors. Slavs, mostly Orthodox and too much turned to per-Christian Slavic faith. Or take Poles. They, Slavs and Catholics are just little bit more valued then us Serbians. Catholicism gave them some more rights to live but then, it is negated by the fact that Poles are Slavs. So my Polish sisters and brothers struggles to prove that they have same right to live as for example western Europeans, some of them would even turn themselves into salt just to get same rights. But, all in vain. They are stubborn Slavs. So, they are also considered as low-people. Higher ranked then Serbians but, still, low-people.

So, to survive, we Serbians developed good sense of humor. By the logic, better laughter then madhouse. All in hope that our moment coming, one day.

Silly. Most of us are intelligent enough to debate, or shrug off silly posts. Paradoxically most of us here have our ranting mode, and deserve a red card or to be ignored for a while. Then it all starts off again.

What are you going to do - put the president of the United States on ignore and pretend his views don't exist? Half this board would be on the ignore list of the other half in that case. and everybody would be left preaching to the converted (as in church).

Ergo, there would in fact be two factions of Polishforums.com. And I for one would only be permitted to log on to Polishforums.B.com, not sharing the right wing views of the mods.

In airports there are buttons which you press to register satisfaction of service (or otherwise) Walmart could sell such oversized buttons, that you can hit after every post read, and too many reds knocks out the offending person out for an hour on your screen.

No, most of people here isn`t for debate. Too much prejudices. Most of you Anglos didn`t grow up capable for discussions. There are Your interests and cheep lives on the way to it. Sure, your own elite (as any other elite in the world), would sacrifice lives of own population too, but those are more expensive lives.

Poles are lucky. They have Serbs. After all, they saved us, now we have to save them.

That's an interesting way of doing things. May I ask why you aren't storing the details of muted posters server-side, but rather client-side? It's more flexible and less-hard-coded this way.

Just a quickie. If you mute someone, is it correct that this means you can't see their posts however they can still see yours?

I've never had to mute anyone, so not 100% sure. I think they can still see your posts if they haven't muted you, and of course you may still see quotes that refer to the muted poster..

Thanks. I 5bought that was the case.

It sort of has the opposite effect that I looked for. I just scroll past stuff that's not interesting, but wanted to block a poster I didn't want to engage with especially.

Never mind, back to the grind.

Not really, as I said two posts ago, and which you presumably tried to read.
