You can work, and apply for jobs like any other EU person can.

She lives in AUSTRALIA , not UK.

an employer wont go through the hassle of red tape.

she could get cash in hand jobs, probably not well paid.

Hi Edyta,
I'm a twenty-two year old Australian, living in Perth and planning to go to Krakow for a couple of months later on in the year. I'm attempting to learn Polish but it's quite difficult with no one to speak to! Do you still have lots of free time? Would love some help!

Ah my dear Polish friends. Sorry for not maintaining this thread. Yes NOR is North of the River. I must say that living in Australia, with a Polish background, leaves me feeling a lack of depth in my culture. You know when you speak and joke in your native language, connect with your people....i miss that. On the other hand I love Australia. I came here when I was 7 years old (35 now). I returned to Poland 20 years later and knocked on the front door of my biological father's apartment. His mother answered and we greeted. He came home an hour later. He was not what I expected. Both his mother and he died three years later. I am back in Australia. I am missing something, even though I am in love and loved. I don't know what it is...culture? Or something even deeper? Anyone else in Australia missing something? I feel like my debt is with Poland and that my life needs to be Polish...Words don't give the feeling enough justice. Thank you all :)

With Gratitude,

Speccie

Hi Irena.
I'm a twenty-five year old polish student, living in Perth.
I arrived here 5 days ago starting an english course from next Monday.
Currently I'm living in a hostel near the City Centre and having a lot of free time for sightseeing.
My english is not brilliant! I'm still learning but I'm sure we will have a good time.
It would be great to meet you in Perth for a cup of coffee/tea and we could start practising the language :)
Do you still have a free time to meet and have a talk?
I can give You my email address: mwj1025@gmail - I have no bad intentions!

Cheers
Matthew

Dear Stephania,

I am polish, lived in the UK since 2005 - moving over to Perth in few months time as got my visa granted at last :)
so happy
I am married to an English lad though - missing Poland, but still able to speak fluently polish, take any opportunity to do so as not speaking at home due to my hubby :( he is not really willing to learn - it can be quite difficult...

We are flying to Perth to activate our visas on 18th June - i cannot wait as have never been this side of the continent - we lived over in sydney for over a year and absolutely loved it over there

hope Perth won't dissapoint us :)

would be a real pleasure to have a chance to meet with yourslelf even for a cup of coffee
feel free to email me on sylwia_zaczek@yahoo.co.uk

A question for Polish people especially those living NOR in Perth.... does anyone know a man named Wolfe (or Wolf) with Polish family name.
He is around 63 and is an amateur boxer and boxing trainer, I met him in hospital last August and would like to get in touch with him.

I'm certain he said he was living in Mirrabooka or Nollamarra or close by.
Replies to this forum please.
Thanks for any assistance you can give.
AlanH.

No replies to my question so it seems the Polish community in Perth is not quite as close as thought it was. I'll just have to try to find Wolf some other way.

AlanH.

Hi ..why do you polish people never seem to want to mix with other cultures? You are all so insular. You never seem to be happy unless you are all walking in teams of six or seven in town centres annoying local people. No wonder the rest of the world pretty much detest you all.

For one moment, I thought you were writing about an average night in an English city.

True. Poland was declared a green island a few years ago.

Hi ..why do you polish people never seem to want to mix with other cultures?

What for? I don`t need other cultures to mix with. My Polish culture satisfies me perfectly. I can read about other cultures in the book or Net (forums), that`s enough. Life is too short, you will never be able to mix with all cultures in the world. Better stick to one which you like and appreciate.

SImple, isn`t it?
