Lost Polish passport, how to get a new one (Australia)?

Hi,

My boyfriend was born in Australia, but obtained a Polish passport about ten years ago as both his parents were born in Poland. While travelling in Europe about ten years ago, his passport was lost and he reported this. However, he never went ahead to replace the lost one and doesn't know his old passport numbers. Now I'm trying to help him get the process started to get a new Polish passport, and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for moving forward with the Polish embassy in Sydney.

Any help would be appreciated. It may seem odd that I'm asking in this forum, not him, but of the two of us I'm better at handling paperwork.

If he reported that doesn't he have passport details on the report?
Just get a dublicste copy of the report( if you lost one) and go to polish consulate, they will verify and issue a new one for a fee.

It's very likely that the old passport has already expired. Was it issued less then or more than 10 years ago? In such a situation there should be no problem with getting a new one, but it would be best to ask the consulate.

I lost my Polish passport many years ago ... Last year I contacted the Polish Consulate in Sydney and after a few months I got my brand new Polish passport. I have to say that Polish consul was totally professional and very helpful !
