Confused about Polish Nouns

I am studying Polish. I just began a few weeks ago.

I am really struggling with noun changes since in English nouns don't change based on situation.

I understand that there are seven different forms of noun --> right?
1-nominative (subject)
2-genitive (possession)
3-dative (indirect objects, some prepositions, etc)
4-accusative (direct object, duration, some prepositions)
5-instrumental (after byc, transportation, action using a tool, transportation)
6-locative (position of object or person)
7-vocative (addressing people)

I do not understand what endings go with each one. How do I know how to make a noun into each form?

What ending do I put on nouns for nominative, for example?

I think you really need to buy a book on Polish grammar. Better still get some private lessons.
I don't know them all but with nominitive, genative, locative and instrumental you can get by...

There are groups of nouns in Polish language. They are called "deklinacje". Every group has different endings in "przypadkach gramatycznych". So, how many endings are there in nouns?: hundreds.

for example:
one of "deklinacje"(masc., sing.ex. a word: "kot" ), other "deklinacja":(masculin, singular,, example a word: "mężczyzna"):

M kto? co? kot M. mężczyzna
D kogo? czego? kota D. mężczyzny
C komu? czemu? kotu C.mężczyźnie
B kogo? co?kota B. mężczyznę
N (z) kim? czym? kotem N. (z) mężczyzną
Msc o kim? o czym?kocie Msc. o mężczyźnie
W! o! kocie! W. mężczyzno!
There are plenty "deklinacje". You can look for them in grammar books.
Nominative: you have to learn it. It has usually no endings. It has endings in plural, often "y".
For verbs we have many "koniugacje" (differences in endings)

i understand your situation i was in the same as you are now, in fact i havent completely got it yet, i suggest you download the book polish in a nutshell, i found this book to be good, you may want to buy 301 polish verbs by janecki. best thing is the try to talk polish, thats the best way to learn.

I need help with a few Polish nouns - my daughter needs it for her diploma paper on the development of vowels and accents in Slavic languages.

She needs cases for these nouns, especially if the root vowel changes, plural forms too, especially genitive plural.
