How much does a WEBDESIGNER earn in a month at a normal company in Poland

i know it changes according to city, but I actually want to know about Warsaw and Gdansk... Just approximately amount?

Enough to afford a good life? or just can survive hardly with no extra spending money in life for fun?

I don't know how much but I know that all the people working in the IT business in Poland earn really decent money!

Actually all over the world people who are at IT Business make good money....

But IT Business is very wide category... Actually I can say that WebDesign Business is going down because of many many people doing some silly websites for stupid prices at home... and its making webdesign business to loose its respect!

That's why I'm curious about this WebDesign Business in Poland.

This is BS. In reality starter is going to earn 1500-2000 top. For example: DreamLab Onet.pl (the biggest polish portal) pays their starters about 2000 PLN. If you are not doing freelance stuff beside your normal work, then don't except your salary to be twice as big as you listed above.

yes, actually i thought that 3000 is exaggerated a bit :)
so the amounts you write is sensible....

what do you think about the possiblity of finding job with no polish?

ps can you say that 1500-2000 is enough to afford an a bit over-avarage life in poland? or will be enough to live hardly?

It depends on your portfolio, known techniques etc. I've been working with a Brazilian guy who didn't know Polish (beside "dzien dobry" and "do widzenia") so it shouldn't be a problem as most of the "web people" are speaking English (one of the requirements in every agency is the ability of reading manuals in English). Also, the salaries I gave you are standard $ in Krakow. It would be ~1000zl more in Warsaw.

So, if your portfolio is long, you should be able to get ~2500-4000 for a start based on your experience and the city.

As long as staffs know english, i think that it will not have problems bcause of i dont know polish... and I will learn polish as soon as possible anyway :)

I know it is difficult to say that any salary amount before see the refenrces,skills,bla bla... Actually what I wanted to know was; can a web dsigner who works for an avarage company afford his life? or has to look for extra jobs? And as I see from your answers, a web designer earns enough to afford an avarage lifed or better :)

Time will show what kind of job and life I will have in poland :)

Ps, I hate of big metropols actually, and I want to live in Gdansk.. But I have no idea about webdesign business in Gdansk, it is not very big city I know and can not comperable with Warsaw. Do you have any idea about Gdansk?

Legal minimum wage = 1200zl/month
Average wage in Poland = 3300zl/month

And those are the national figures. The big cities pay much higher. In Warsaw a barman in a decent place is going to be on 2400zl/month. You think a web designer makes 20% less?
