Necessary to own a car to commute from Wroclaw centre to Katy Wroclawskie

Accodring to my plan, I am moving to Wroclaw before long. My employer there says that it is advisable for me to own a car to commute from Wroclaw to Katy Wroclawskie where the company is. I do not yet know where I am going to live but, as my employer says, I may as well buy the car.

My question is, is there any convenient transportation from Wroclaw to Katy Wroclawskie and if any, how often does it go between those two places?

I actually have another question, how much do you think it will cost to buy a decent used car in Poland (preferably, automatic)? I never owned a car in my life, and I believe it could be burden to have one.

Thank you

Aha, kodoma/jidensha ga irimasu ka? Try the local trains, I think u'll be ok. Densha ha maa maa desu kedo...

They are not as punctual as Japanese trains. However, saving on fuel costs will help u to live a nice enough life in Wrocław. There are good restaurants there.

I don't think u'll need a car. Porando ha kirei dayo. U can see this by train

I dont think youll find any trams travelling that route but there is definently a cheap and reliable bus service, its about a 10-15 minute drive from "Bielany" southern Wroclaw.

Seamus:

'kodoma' is kuruma, 'jidensha' is jitensha?

My employer said that in winter time, using jitensha (bicycle) could be a bit dangerous. On the other hand, driving a kuruma (car) could cause some problem, as I learned from the other Internet site. I have heard that Asian drivers are often stopped by police on the roads and they have to pay bribes to the police (letigimate or not). And there are quite a few car-jacks, I am afraid, and traffic. Yes, I prefer using public transport to owning trouble.
