Have you ever been to London? I think i can safely state you will never see so many foreigners in one city.

commonsense - are you even in England? (Or the UK?) I don't imagine you are. I don't think you'll find that the Scottish nation sat down to watch BraveHeart and then all of a sudden wanted independance.

Your OP might have been worth reading but you've lost us with your hatred further on in the thread. So now we know you don't like the Poles, the Scots, the Welsh, the Americans, you may not even like the English that much.

Thousands of Jews returned in 1945, many were driven away and murdered and those that were stupid enough to stay were expelled in 1968.

It might be good to check the ethnic composition of the "Polish" government after WW2, especially UB (polish KGB). That may give you hints as to why some behaved the way they did.

Rememeber, I'm not stupid, so don't insult my intelligence and blame the Nazis. Like my name on this site, common sense is a man's (and a woman's) greatest weapon.

We can't forget that you are not stupid because you haven't let us see your wisdom yet.
As for the common sense, you show off the weapon but you have no clue how to use it, ergo you are just another low end yapper.

Scotland depends totally on England.

this is where the English tax-payer enters the equation

Scotland subsidises the rest of the UK. Even on the London government's analysis (designed to present the Scottish position in the worst possible light), Scotland has contributed of £24 bn more in tax (incl North Sea revs) to the Treasury than we have received in public spending in the last 20 years, an average annual surplus of £1.2 billion.

just a normal half-educated Englishman

No, scratch the surface and there is just your average ill educated bigoted racist.

'Commonsense', you have expressed your feelings of superiority now - what is left to say?

Why not go have some fun with your girlfriend now and stop moaning on a forum for people who are either Polish or who have some interest in Poland and/or its people.

commonsense, moaning about eastern european immigrants on this forum won`t change anything. maybe you should complain to your goverment who let us in here in the first place.

myy views on the polish working in the uk is that hhhhmmm well their polish and their working in the uk :) what else is there to add. no matter what anybody may think its legal and there is nothing anybody can or should be able to do about it.

Yes there are too many immigrants in this country and yes it can cause difficulties but personally i have no problems with Poles working in the UK or studying here, i just don't like the ones that are doing jobs that our government could FORCE our lazy so and so's to do :) However that goes for all immigrants in these jobs and not just the polish of course

Forum History lesson Remember the spate of go home Brits and stop pushing up our property prices threads a year back. Now it's go home Poles we want our jobs/culture/men/women back. As far as I can see we both voted in governments who supported EU policy on free movement of capital and labour. If it causes anyone a problem go vote to come out of the EU. If no party has this on its manifesto then go start a political party yourself. Oh and stop coming on here moaning at us all will you?

Oh dear. Reading some of the above, when have I said I don't like Americans, the Scots or the Poles? Can you read? (I'm attacking non-readers now). As for murdering innocent women and children and expulsions because of a Jewish-backed communist government...Nonsense say I as does your President to has just apologised and offered back their citizenship to those remaining alive. Even if it true, you have proved my point, you don't like foreigners in Poland whether they are communist or not. Why weren't Polish communists expelled or murdered? I don't think there were many communists in Jedwabne or Radislow, especially those who were only 2 years old. What about the treatment of the Germans in Silesia who were kicked out or murdered, arguably from their own land, by Poles? Ah! That's different! Poles the victim! Hitler's fault, Stalin's fault, Churchill's fault. I swear in 10 years the concensus amongst Poles will be "how Poles were enslaved in the UK".

"Polish doctors were forced to make sandwiches in Reading". Going back to my initial thread...WE DON'T WANT 2/3 MILLION POLES IN OUR COUNTRY! Some is fine, like my name's sake...COMMON SENSE.

I think I am being criticised by some is because you have a distinct lack of a decent response, maybe because you're embarrassed or deep down you know I'm right.

As for 'proving my superiority', well - I didn't intend to

Scottish people are so stupid

Christ you Scots are soooooo stupid.

I never called anyone I liked stupid and then stupid again.

Can you read?

Can you? If you could you'd have read this site and realised this droll topic about the amount of Poles in the UK has been done over and over and over and o-v-e-r...you may have wanted to add to another topic rather than start this one. Negative attitudes in this topic are due to the fact the Polish Forum members are sick of hearing negative attitudes about Poles in the UK.

Are you in the UK?

Calling Scots stupid does not mean I don't like them! "I hate Scots" and/or "Scots are stupid" are utterly different statements. It's like comparing an apple with a cigarette. I do sympathise with Poles who are constantly hearing negative attitudes. I believe you are being compared to Mexicans in the US - that's sad. Unfortunately, some Poles have behaved in the UK in an unappealing way and the fact that there's so many of you the negativeness is easier to propogate by the indigenous people. The English have the same abroad. We're all hooligans and lager-louts because of a small minority of idiots.

I don't live in the UK. My Polish isn't good enough :) I refuse to return to the UK so I am looking to move to Canada or any country that will have me.

Sophia, please don't write on my thread. It's embarrassing.

I don't live in the UK.

AHA! So while you're going on about Poles living in the UK, you yourself aren't even living here. So how can you have first hand knowledge? You're also saying you're a Brit living in another country (probably Poland) so I don't see how you can complain about anyone living in another country...

well, if it happens you will never get away with such talk here. Please reconsider.

At least Canada is much, much bigger than the UK, he can be hidden away from society.

Now petty insults. This is the problem. A half-decent guy engages in honest debate about my own country and I this is what happens. The reason I'm not at home is now is because my town is a toilet. Absolutely rammed with foreigners who I believe have no right to be there. Like many Brits. We've left our home because the situation is intolerable. Just because I live abroad mean therefore I cannot have a view. I believe Poles are allowed to vote in Britain for God's sake. Wake up and smell that coffee. If it was your country you would be fuming. Fact. What's the definition of a racist? Someone winning an argument against a liberal. It's pointless trying to explain to you, just because I can see honest is met with hostility. Just watch this and wonder if you would like this to be Poland....

immigration is obviously a concern for many in the uk. ignoring it or labling people who dare to mention it as racists does nothing to address the problem, and it is a problem, and a growing one.

Do you think there is an irony in your words though? Do you believe you have greater rights to voice an opinion on Britain than someone who actually lives and pays taxes there?

You also say about your hometown -"Absolutely rammed with foreigners who I believe have no right to be there." What gives a person a right to be there in your eyes?

Sophia

You're posts have contributed nothing. Would you post a letter to your dad with nothing written on the paper? Or maybe visit a supermarket with no intention to buy, but to satisfy your bizarre understanding, and totally inconsequential fact that you can as it is after all - a public place? Would you sit at a table in a public place (like a pub) and just look at people with an inept, doltish and moronic smile safely and with confidence with the knowledge that you... can? This maybe a public forum but that doesn't give you the right to waste web-space with your nonsensical and aimless rejoinders that do nothing to the debate, contribute to bettering peoples' knowledge/ideas and they certainly are not producing even a modicum of impetus. In other words..."****off!".

Please be respectful to others. Regardless if you disagree. This is a public forum. Thank you.

Kilkline, I raise my views as I am a subject of the British Crown. I am a British citizen and unlike Poles, I can vote to change Her Majesty's governments. My opinion is the most important to the government, not a Polish or any other migrant.

Sorry for swearing, I was not being disrespectful, well - trying not to be!

I can tell u that many Poles see the UK as some kind of haven. I give u Desiderata commonsense.

'God give me the courage to accept the things I cannot change'. U don't have the power to orchestrate wholesale changes so why bother? Yes, I understand that if everyone took that approach then the status quo would always be maintained but what do u propose to do about it, may I ask?

Ok here is my real, honest and straight up opinion of what i think about 'poles working in the uk':

Firstly i am quite happy with polish people coming to the UK and working, i have no problem what so ever with this. There are many very intellegent, switched on, hard working and committed Poles willing to work and its only fair that they have the oppertunity to work here. As Poland has been part of the EU for a while now i think its important to remember than unlike some immigrants they are not illegal, they are allowed to be here and as long as they pay their taxes work here.

However there are certain elements that i do not like and that i would be unhappy about or think needs changing, so here goes:

1. Non-English Speaking: So this is my first issue, Poles who do not speak english and do not make an effort to learn the language. As i understand English is taught in most schools in Poland to some sort of level. THis means taht there should be a basic understanding of our language. However more and more i find people in jobs, in this case polish as its a polish forum, where they cannot communicate to me the information i require. I was in Marks & Sparks only last week looking for a tie, i asked the girl standing at the sign that said 'can i help you' i asked her were the ties were as it was a pretty big store and didnt' want to run round for ages to find them. Firstly she did not understand what i meant, secondly she couldn't communicate with me in my own language. I find this un-acceptable that people working in customer service in the UK cannot speak english. I have mentioned one occassion yes but i can think of many more and my friends have had similar experiences. I know that not all jobs require speaking to people but the ones that do should not be taken by people who do not speak or understand english.

2.Polish ONNLY communities: Ok this point is just as important as the first and probably contributes to it. When people come to the UK to work or live they should at least try or make some sort of effort to mix with the people of the UK. There are many places around the UK where there are a lot of Polish and in some places, Hammersmith, London, that are dominated by the Polish. THey make no effort to mix with the population of the UK, speak the language. This to me is not acceptable, if you come here then you should muck in with the rest of us. Part of becoming multi-cultural is understanding and learning about each others cultures, how are we meant to do that if you don't mix!!!!!!!.

3. Complainers: I'm affraid its true yes, there are polish immigrants who come here to make a better life for themselves and all they do is moan about the UK. Ow the british are lazy, you can't get polish stuff, nobody likes us and other rubbish like this. If you come to the UK and don't like it, then you can go back home its no problem to me or anybody else in the UK. The polish are not the only immigrants who o this but yet again i say this is a polish forum so i'm talking about the polish. I assume that people have come to the UK either because they want to earn a decent wage, better themselves or have come for a better standard and quality of life. So if they want all this then for heaven's sake find a job your happy with and stop complaining :)

4. Minor Jobs: This is something i feel strongly about, recently in the UK there has been a big thing about benefit scroungers etc etc etc. The government while they realise there is a problem are not doing anything about it. Fair play on the polish for coming here and taking jobs such as toilet cleaners, catering, customer service etc etc, however its not helping our own population and is flushing public money down the drain. If all these jobs that the polish and other immigrants are doing, were instead being done by the lazy brits that claim benefits and get away with it, then we would have less of a problem. I'm not blaming the polish or any other immigrants for this. The government are being lazy, instead of letting anybody into the country and agreeing to all this EU rubbish, they should be hand picking people to come into the UK and work where the UK needs it. Then spend the public money that is going on benefits to these lazy people, instead, on getting them out into these jobs!!!!!.

5. Overflow: the polish are not the probelm, they are just part of it, we have way way way way way to many immigrants in this country, we need to cut down on the amount we let in and should have been doing so from the start. There are over 1 million poles in this country at the moment along with the millions of other immigrants. We have our own population and no matter what you may think as many positives immigration has there are major negatives. Housing being given to immigrants instead of the homeless in the uk or those who are in need of it. Benefits being claimed by immigrants (UK benefits should not be given out to non UK nationals) With all this the overflow of immigrants has gone way beyond a joke.

So there you go that is what i think, as i said at the top i'm very happy to have polish in the uk and working. People are probably going to scream racist racist racist and other abusive words my way. Well i know thats going to happen but i hope you can try and understand some of the points i have written about and consider them fom a UK nationals point of view.

Thank you

T
